Per the new season’s official logline, “school’s back in session under the militant authority of Alfea’s former Headmistress Rosalind. But when fairies start to go missing in the night, Bloom and her suitemates discover a dangerous threat lurking in the shadows. One they’ll have to stop before it wreaks havoc on the entire Otherworld.”

Like a lot of people, I tore through the six-episode season of Netflix’s new fairy fantasy show, Fate: The Winx Saga, in the first few days after its release. I loved it more than I thought I would, and then the cliffhanger season finale hit like a tornado of unanswered questions. I rewatched, searching for clues and pieces of information I might’ve missed the first time, and now I’m left wondering: where the hell will the show go from here, and will there be a second season to answer all the burning questions the finale left in its wake? For all the other curious fans out there, here is everything we know about the fate of the show and where the fairies and specialists of Alfea might take us next.

*Spoilers follow for Fate: The Winx Saga.

Has Fate: The Winx Saga Been Renewed for a Season Two?

Breaking news in the Otherworld: Netflix has officially renewed Fate: The Winx Saga for a second season. In an official statement and teaser clip on the Netflix Facebook, showrunner Brian Young revealed a glimpse at what's to come in the new season. "The six episodes in season one only scratched the surface of this incredibly rich world and the powerful fairies who inhabit it. As Bloom's story continues to evolve, I can't wait for you to learn even more about Aisha, Stella, Terra, and Musa! And you never know who might show up at Alfea next term…" Young said.

What Would Season Two Be About?

At the close of season one, a whole lot of things happen. Bloom unlocks a new level of her fairy powers, gaining her fiery fairy wings and defeating an army of Burned Ones in the process. Rosalind—the highly manipulative former headmistress of Alfea—brutally murders Headmistress Farah Dowling and seizes control of the school with the help of the Queen of Solaria and her army. Bloom tells her parents that she is a changeling, a fairy that was switched at birth with their human baby, and they appear to accept her and love her just the same. The Queen reveals that Sky’s father, Andreas, has secretly been alive all these years, hiding and raising Beatrix, Rosalind’s dangerous teenage henchwoman.

Get ready to return to Alfea, as Netflix just revealed that new teaser trailer and release window for Season 2 of Fate: The Winx Saga. Based on the iconic animated series Winx Club, the live-action series follows the adventures of five fairies who meet at a boarding school located in a magical land called the Otherworld, and will be coming back for Season 2 this Fall.

The original Winx Club series ran through eight successful seasons at Nickelodeon, exploring a world filled with monstrous menaces and magic-wielding humanoid fairies who band together to protect the world from evil. Then, inspired by Winx Club’s lore, Netflix released a live-action adaptation that boasts a great cast and adds the spicy drama of Young Adult productions on top of all the magic. The result couldn’t be any different. The six-episode first season of Fate: The Winx Saga became a phenomenal success, ensuring the series would be renewed for Season 2 only a month after its release.
