Great place if you're older than 55 and all you want to do is golf and gamble. Otherwise I don't suggest it. No pediatricians or labor and delivery but there are an absurd amount of dermatologists and cardiologists. Everything is geared towards retirees. There are some good people but there are a lot of entitled ones too. Traffic is getting worse and worse since the population is growing faster than the infrastructure. The few things they do have for kids and families include parks, splash pads, a movie theater, a wonderful library, an arcade and bowling alley in the casino (though most of the arcade games are usually broken and bowling leagues often have tournaments so good luck with that) and a few establishments with kids in mind. It's always sunny! It's very hot too. 117°F + is not uncommon to see so good luck with outdoor activities between 9am and 7pm May through September.

Start Your Review of Mesquite

After living in Las Vegas for 40 years the move to Mesquite has been the best decision ever!

It is safe, uncrowded, and (WOW!) we can see the stars at night. Housing is less than in Las Vegas and someone with just an average income (retired or not) can live quite comfortably.

We have 95% of everything one could possibly need and if you want more variety St. George, Utah is just a few miles up the road.

If you are looking DO NOT neglect to look here.

Just moved here from LA and these silly reviews about low paying jobs TRUE nothing for kids to do True thank God, and hot hot Hotter than hell TRUE ITS CALLED THE DESERT, so I lived in LA with 25billion people who never talk to people, so much traffic you basically think about going out and then change your mind, I'm retired wanted to get away from all that, found a place with a beautiful view and a casino with a sports book, oh and theres no kids! So I'm in like flint
