Wow, I’m so happy I bought mine a couple of weeks ago. I really love the color and I’d have been really pissed if they had just removed it for no reason before I could buy it Show Also, it was really hard finding the braided solo loop bands at all in the store app. No matter what I searched, they didn’t come up. Had to go and browse all watch bands, and only then did they show at all. Each Braided Solo Loop features a unique, stretchable design that’s incredibly comfortable and easy to slip on and off your wrist. It is made with a custom-developed interwoven thread giving it an iconic style with a soft and textured feel that is both sweat and water-resistant. Apple Watch size is indicated on the back of the device.
Apple Watch Series 7 with Black Unity Braided Sport Loop. David PhelanThe new Apple Watch band is the Black Unity Braided Solo Loop, launched as a special edition as part of Apple’s celebration of Black History Month. Here’s a hands-on, wrist-on perhaps, review of the new item. MORE FROM FORBESApple Reveals Jaw-Dropping Upgrade For AirPods Pro 2By David Phelan It’s a sumptuously different braided band. The Braided Solo Loop is one of Apple’s best creations, made from recycled yarn interwoven with silicone threads. It’s a soft matte-finish stretchy band in one piece, making it especially comfy because there are not clasps or buckles attached. It comes in 10 colors and two special editions, this one and the beautiful Pride Edition band. Black Unity Braided Solo Loop. David PhelanThe special versions aren’t just one color, they have multi-colored patterns in the case of the new Black Unity version is black with flecks of red and green. It’s a subtle and appealing design. In situations with lower light, it looks like it’s almost black, with the tiniest hints of color. In bright light, it looks much livelier. Apple's Black Unity Braided Solo Loop. David PhelanIt's a subtle look that works for evening wear as effectively as daytime, as good for a dinner party as going swimming (it’s water-resistant). Of course, this being Apple, there’s more detail than that. Black Unity is written (laser-etched, Apple says) on the metal connectors that fit the strap to the Watch. Apple describes it as inspired by Afrofuturism, and is to do with the need for a “more equitable” world. Apple's new Unity Lights Watch face. David PhelanAnd it’s accompanied by a cool new Watch face, called Unity Lights. It’s a pleasingly simple design, just the hour, minute and second hands. The word lights refers to the way they glow on one side, lighting the watch face in red and green (the colors of the Pan-African flag) and the lighting works in such a way that it glows yellow in the center. It’s a subtle and deeply attractive face. Very simple, and the only addition you can make in the full-screen view is to add hour markers. The circular version of the Unity Lights Watch face. David PhelanChoose the circular version and you can add complications in the corners, a less pure but more informative face. In short, the combination of the Braided Loop and the new Watch face are a triumph. And, like all Apple’s special edition bands, this one is the same price, $99, £99 in the U.K., as the regular band. I am one of the few individuals who pre-ordered the AW Product Red Series 7 (first time trying out a bold Apple color) and the only options for the bands were red in color (chose the braided solo loop).
I am one of the few individuals who pre-ordered the AW Product Red Series 7 (first time trying out a bold Apple color) and the only options for the bands were red in color (chose the braided solo loop). I was disappointed to see it disappear from my favorites list in the Apple Store app last weekend.
Guess I shouldn't of sat on the decision to buy one but I didn't think they'd discontinue charcoal as it's a color that works with everything
I preordered in the first four mins, because I chose the charcoal braided loop it has significantly delayed my order. I think it’s gone.
I was trying to order the red watch but the only option is the red braided band, which I already have. Really don't want to pay extra for a band I already have. Wanted to switch it to the new red Sport Band because I like it more than last year's (was orange-red then.) Has anybody found a way to order the red watch with a band other than the red-braided band? Even tried
Apple's watch studio, and I couldn't do it there?
I managed to get one yesterday at apple Edinburgh store (charcoal). You may be lucky to get one at your local store as they’re not selling them online anymore as they are discontinuing them.

attachment 1867705 That's nice. Want one, too. Good thought to try the brick'n'mortar stores.
Nice! That was my idea too. I spoke to an online Apple shopping rep yesterday who told me 1 store (out of the 5 we have here in PHX, AZ) had the charcoal braided solo loop. For want of a few more millimeters! Hope you got yourself an ice cream cone on the way home so you had something good on that long trip.
I know, right!? ? Oh well, maybe I’ll get lucky and find one eventually.

My AWS7 looks nice with the charcoal braided
solo loop. I don't understand why Apple would discontinue that color, it's a classic. (I've had this band since it first came out.)
What is prompting you to think the charcoal bands are being discontinued vs just a supply chain constraint? Because it's not shown on the color choices anymore and it deleted itself from my favorites list on the Apple Store app..

That sucks! I'm in the Phoenix area too and when I was at the Scottsdale store they had everyone of the new braided loop colors and sizes. They said the charcoal and a couple others were discontinued Yep. Was at the San Tan location yesterday afternoon
to pick up my watch (closest store to my house), and they said the same thing, but saw in their inventory system that the Fashion Square location had some in stock, but they didn’t confirm the size. I do dislike that they can’t/won’t even call another location just to check.
What is prompting you to think the charcoal bands are being discontinued vs just a supply chain constraint? They're not on the website anymore and difficult to get a hold of in the apple stores. They are also packaged as 44mm(last years measurements)
compared with 45mm this year for the larger watch.

Maybe they will bring the Black Braided Solo Loop back as a special edition/cross promotion for the
remake of the Night Rider movie

Sucks that you cant buy the Charcoal or plain Black braided solo loops.
Sucks that you cant buy the Charcoal or plain Black braided solo loops. Sure hope so. Black is a color that always should be offered since it goes with just about anything.. I'd even be ok if they offered Midnight which is a greyish black..

100% agree with you there. Not sure the reason. I have relized that if you like a band you should buy it or at least purchase them before the new ones are released

The only one from the Braided Solo loop bands which i think could possibly match my Series 2 Space Black Stainless Steel is the Abyss Blue one maybe? I know they're available in black from 3rd parties but I've tried a handful of them and returned them all due to different quality issues I couldn't live with Is the Apple Watch Braided Solo Loop worth it?Apple's Braided Solo Loops are just a better, more breathable fit. Compared to the solid, pore-less Apple Sport Band, the Braided Solo Loop solves one major problem for me: breathability. Gone are the days of clammy wrists under my watch, now my skin can breathe.
Should you size down on the Braided Solo Loop?My experience with the braided solo loop is that it is best to go for rather snug fit. Basically at least one size smaller than what the reading comes back with.
Does the Apple Braided Solo Loop stretch? If you have a Solo Loop or Braided Solo Loop, the band size should be comfortable, but snug against your wrist. Simply pull from the bottom of the band to stretch it over your wrist when you put it on and take it off. Solo Loop may increase in length over time.
