Is there anything in Fort Wallace?

In this guide, you will come to know how to break into FORT WALLACE in Red Dead Redemption 2. Go through the guide and follow the step-by-step instructions to do so.

First, you will need to get to the fort, which is located on the northeast side of Valentine from the map. Before getting to the fort, you need to get a stagecoach by roaming around the roads. Once you find it, you have to rob it, and also need to stand on top of it. You have to use it to jump over the fort’s wall, as shown in the image below.

Now you need to have tonics that will fortify Deadite’s stamina and your health because you will be getting shot a lot by the people there. So the deadeye will help you to deal with them. You will need to have a pistol, a repeater, and a shotgun for close-range kills.

After that, go to the main menu and save the game because if you die, you can again go back to the safe point. So you need to turn off the autosave option and then turn them back on after the ride. When you are outside, you need to take your stagecoach to the left side of the wall. When you get there, the soldier will start to ask you questions about your visit there, so you need to make your way inside, and they will start to shoot you, as shown in the image below.

When you are close to the walls, you need to jump off them and kill the soldiers. You have to go to the back of the stagecoach and use it to jump on the walls, and from there, you need to kill as many soldiers as you can, and then you need to go to the southeast side of the floor. There you will find hay bales which you can use to hide behind, as shown in the image below.

Also, you need to make sure to gain your tonics and get healthy; if you kill all of the soldiers, you will be free to run. So now you need to find two cigarette cards, the first is in the northwest corner, and there you will find the opening of the table with a lantern. You will need to use eagle eyes to support other things and find the cigarette card on the table, as shown below.

To find the second card, you need to go around the corner at the bottom of the tower, and there you have to use your eagle eye or spike in the dark to find the card. When you find it, you need to collect it, and then you will see that more soldiers will spawn, so you have to take them down as well, and if you are out of ammo, then you can also use pirates’ weapons to kill the soldiers, as shown in the image below.

If you go around the area, you can easily find ammo there, and to the east side of the fort, you will find an ammo store that has ammo boxes and some dynamite. If you go to the north side of the fort, you will find more items that will help you fight with soldiers.

Is there ever a mission, or side mission where Fort Wallace is involved? Whereby, you raid it, or enter it welcomed?

All details and spoilers welcome.

Ah, I see. Thank you! I saw a YouTube video where you can bring a wagon there, hop on top of the wagon, and get over the fence.

I want to do this to get the Military Mountie hat.

There are also some lootables in the fort, too.

Cigarette cards, documents, etc.

If I did this, would anybody know whether or not that would mess up the quest, later?

I cannot say with absolute certainty that visiting there early couldn’t mess with the later mission, but I would be very surprised if it had any lasting effects. I really think it won’t cause any issue going in there early, aside from a bounty.

The mission that you do visit that location is not going to be the best time to really explore it, as it will be burning down, but... post-epilogue it does return to the pre-mission condition (probably Epilogue 1, but I don’t have a save to check), and the hat wearing NPCs are present in end-game. Just to be safe, you could get the stuffs at that point.

EDIT: getting the hat can be done without actually going in, although it’s a bit tricky/lucky. Standing pretty much center of the front entrance, ~10 feet from the wall throw dynamite against the corner tower walls so they bank onto the walkway the soldiers shoot from, with enough attempts (and luck) the blast will knock the hat over the wall for quick pickup.

Wow! I'm definitely going to give this a try, and thank you so much for the information! You have some amazing knowledge.
