Venom: Let There Be Carnage arrives in movie theaters this weekend, but will you be able to watch it on Disney Plus?

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is among 2021’s most anticipated theatrical releases.

The sequel to 2018’s Venom, the movie is set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (formerly titled the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters), it features the iconic Marvel Comics symbiote and stars Tom Hardy as that titular symbiote – a role that he reprises from the previous movie.

However, like the aforementioned previous movie, Eddie Brock won’t be the only character inhabited by an alien symbiote. He will be joined by Carnage, as Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) takes on Venom in what is bound to be a gruesome clash of the alien titans.

The hype for Venom 2 is real, but can you watch it from the comfort of your own home? This was an approach that Marvel Studios took with Black Widow, but will Sony do the same?

Is Venom: Let There Be Carnage on Disney Plus?

Unfortunately, Venom: Let There Be Carnage will not be coming to Disney Plus. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies will no longer be doing the day and date theatrical and home release system that we saw with Black Widow, none of this applies to Venom 2 since it isn’t a Marvel Studios movie.

Where can you watch Venom: Let There Be Carnage online?

As of right now, there is no place to watch Venom 2 online. The film is a big budget offering and Sony will no doubt be hoping for the movie to perform well theatrically (especially after the multiple delays it faced).

2018’s Venom was a surprise hit that played well with audiences in spite of negative reviews, so the studio will no doubt be looking for similar magic here (even though Venom: Let There Be Carnage is getting something of a positive response).

If Sony’s Spider-Man Universe wants to continue being a success, Venom 2 needs to perform well in theaters.

That being said, look for the film to make its presence felt on home media and many VOD services around three months after its release.

Is Venom Let there be carnage on Disney+?

Venom in Columbia Pictures' VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE.

October has only just begun, but the month is off to an incredible start at the box office thanks in large part to the debut of Sony’s highly anticipated Venom sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

While it was looking like the follow-up to Tom Hardy’s breakout hit of 2018 was to be delayed until 2022, Sony stuck with its most recent release date in order to bring fans access to one of the year’s most talked-about superhero projects.

Given the film is based on one of Marvel Comics’ most popular characters, one might assume Venom: Let There Be Carnage would be available to stream on Disney Plus but is that the case?

Is Venom: Let There Be Carnage on Disney Plus?

Although Disney Plus is home to countless incredible superhero offerings including all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, fans of the streaming service will not find Venom: Let There Be Carnage streaming on Disney Plus this October… or this fall for that matter.

Why isn’t Venom: Let There Be Carnage streaming on Disney Plus?

While Venom is a Marvel character, the rights to the character are currently owned by Sony Pictures. Because of this, Marvel Studios is not currently attached to the Venom films and therefore does not have rights to the film which is why Venom: Let There Be Carnage is not streaming on Disney Plus.

So while the movie is based on a Marvel character, the studio is not involved in the project. Because Sony Pictures is the rights owner of the film, the rights to the sequel would have to be purchased by Disney in order for the movie to stream on the platform.

Thus far, Marvel and Sony have not managed to work out any streaming deals as evident by the glaring absence of the studios’ Tom Holland Spider-Man films on Disney Plus.

Where can I watch Venom: Let There Be Carnage?

Unlike many other recent blockbusters, Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be opening exclusively in movie theaters meaning fans will need to head out to theaters in order to see the film.

Once its theatrical run comes to an end, theVenom sequel should be available to purchase or rent on most popular Video on Demand providers. Because Sony does not currently have its own streaming service, it’s likely the rights to the project will be secured by a streaming service at some time.

One likely candidate to land the streaming rights to Venom: Let There Be Carnage is Netflix, who recently stuck an extensive new deal with Sony which could result in several Sony blockbusters making their way to Netflix in the coming years.

Is Venom and Carnage on Disney Plus?

All of this has fans wanting to know if they will be able to access Venom and Venom: Let There be Carnage on their Disney Plus account at any point. Is Venom on Disney Plus? Unfortunately, for fans that are not in Japan, it is not on Disney Plus.
