Ive been killing slimes for 300 years season 2

The magic is far from over for "I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years." Set in an enchanted world, this light novel turned anime gives its central character —Azusa Aizawa — a surprising twist on a new life. Constantly enthralling storylines along with a visual style that is true to the source material made it a standout title upon release. The series' plot also offers its own lessons for how everyone deals with the world's ever-present stresses.

An initial run on Japanese TV helped the series grow into a buzz-worthy project. Months later, "I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years" hit the US thanks to a deal with Crunchyroll (via Anime News Network) — the service is currently home to the entire run. While the first season ended with Azusa enjoying her current situation, there are sure to be some challenges on the horizon. Fans don't have to wait too long to find an answer to their questions about renewal. The series started out 2022 with a surprise announcement.

What is the release date for I've Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years Season 2?

Good news for anyone seeking more adventure with the Witch of the Highlands. "I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years" is returning for a second season (via Crunchyroll). The series' official Twitter account sent out the news along with an accompanying image to celebrate. No date was announced in the message, so it could be a while before Japanese viewers get a glimpse of the next season.

The announcement does not allude to international dates, so audiences outside of Japan could be facing an added delay. If there's any hope for fans, it comes from the first season's initial run. "I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years" transitioned onto Crunchyroll in the same month as its Japanese air dates (via Crunchyroll). For Crunchyroll viewers, the series is available with the original voice actors and English subtitles. Several dubs are also on-demand, including Spanish, English, and French.

What characters are in I've Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years Season 2?

As of early 2022, there is no information about which voice actors will return for a second season. The first season had an extensive cast take on the leading roles. Original Japanese dialogue sees Aoi Yūki as Azusa Aizawa, who has also been featured in numerous voice roles such as those related to the popular "Pokémon" video game franchise (via IMDb). She's joined by Kaede Hondo (Laika), Sayaka Senbongi (Falfa), Minami Tanaka (Shalsha), Sayaka Harada (Halkara), Manami Numakura (Beelzebub), Azumi Waki (Flatorte), and Riho Sugiyama (Rosalie).

Dubs featured a different, but no less talented, group of actors. Skyler Davenport assumed the role of Azusa Aizawa for the English dub. Rachelle Heger (Laika), Lizzie Freeman (Falfa), Suzie Yeung (Shalsha), Xanthe Huynh (Halkara), Erica Mendez (Beelzebub), Amber Lee Connors (Flatorte), and Anne Yatco (Rosalie) round out the cast.

What is the plot of I've Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years Season 2?

Azusa Aizawa lives a normal — yet all too ordinary — life. Full of stress and strain, the toll of her work eventually proves to be too much. After dying, she finds a second chance at life. Now, Azusa's back — but restored to a world that is far from the one she knew before.

This immortal witch is set on righting the wrongs that led to her untimely death while pursuing a stress-free life. Nothing is as easy as it seems, though, as she gets through each day by hunting slimes. It doesn't go unnoticed as her power and friendships reach unbelievable heights.

Season 1 ended with Azusa realizing the importance of what she's learned along the way as well as a renewed vigor for life. Running a cafe with friends also showed her how much they had become an integral part of her story. Season 2 could follow the outline already set out by the light novel and manga properties, or venture into new areas undiscovered in the original material. We're expecting to learn more about the backstories of the main characters in Season 2 as well, but stay tuned for any official updates.

Killing Slime for 300 Years season 2 confirmed…

It’s good news for fans of the I’ve Been Killing Slime for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level anime, the series has recently been renewed for a second season by Studio Revoroot.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, through the ongoing light novel series and shared on the official Japanese website. However, not many fans will have been too surprised by the news.

Prior to the announcement, the future of I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years appeared as bright and positive as the series’ character. Anime renewals typically depend on two factors, popularity and source material – thankfully, this show has plenty of both.

The series is currently scoring a respectable 7/10 on MyAnimeList, with over 106,000 reviews from fans; arguably enough to merit a renewal.

There is also plenty of source material from the manga and light novel series that is available to adapt into more seasons of the anime.

According to Monsters and Critics, the first season will conclude around the fourth light novel volume and the seventh manga volume (with some notable chopping-and-changing from the original order).

The good news for fans is that a total of 19 light novel and ten manga volumes have been already been published in Japan.

Interestingly, there is also a possibility that a spin-off anime series can be produced, adapting the hit light novel spin-off ‘I Was a Bottom-Tier Bureaucrat for 1,500 Years, and the Demon King Made Me a Minister.’

What date could I’ve Been Killing Slime for 300 Years season 2 release?

Whilst news of the second season going into production is a welcomed one, the official announcement made no mention of a potential release date for Azusa’s return.

However, we can make a prediction on the potential premiere based on the production timeline from the first season. The anime was first announced in October 2019 and premiered in April 2021.

Assuming that season 2 experiences a similar production schedule now that it has been announced, fans can expect the anime to return in July 2022 on the Summer broadcasting slate.
