Last night, Ne-Yo and Johntá Austin had an Instagram Live battle during which they played some of the biggest hits they’ve written, and R&B fans on Twitter loved every minute of it. Ne-Yo first announced the battle on Twitter, asking fans if they wanted to see him and Austin go at it. Austin was up for the challenge and responded: “Y’all requested. My brother & I will oblige.” Then, they revealed the official rules — show up sober and play 25 songs of any genre. Given their catalog, however, the battle ended up being an hour-long R&B jam. Ne-Yo played songs such as Mario’s “Let Me Love You,” Rihanna’s “Unfaithful,” and Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable.” Meanwhile, Austin played some of his biggest ‘90s tracks, including Aaliyah’s “Come Over,” Tyrese’s “Sweet Lady” and Toni Braxton’s “Just Be a Man About It.” Once it was over, Ne-Yo said they “both won.” Some fans, however, think Austin took the win. What’s certain is that the Ne-Yo vs Johntá Austin battle was legendary, as over 77,000 fans tuned in. Watch the battle below, then keep scrolling for some of the best reactions. It was CLASSIC
