For anyone with a 365 thinking about a Kimber Micro 9...don't bother...at least in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong...the Micro 9 is an excellent gun...different from the 365...but beautiful gun.

The 365 is just a better gun if you plan to CCW. Here's my reasons why:
-Better size...seems much smaller and lighter
-Much better trigger
-Fits and feels better in the hand
-Depending on model, the Micro may have better sights
-More capacity with the 365

Well, of course there is always someone with the exact opposite opinion Those first three points are mostly personal preference of course. Mine is the plain black model with hogue rubber grips and a fiber optic front sight. I can shoot it as well as most of my longer-barreled 9's. For me, the 365 grip is just too skinny. I'm not sure what's up with that color? Grey?

Also, the Kimber Micro 9 is basically the same design gun as the SIG P938. Kimber has a one year warranty, but they apparently honor it beyond the one year according to some. Still, I'd go with the SIG.

For me, the P365 would be awfully hard to improve on for EDC, but those mini 1911 types are so darn cute! Some folks just don't like polymer framed striker fired pistols, so that's just the thing for them.

I feel the same. I know everyone love the 365 but I just don’t like the way it feels in my hand. Just not the right fit. I’ve never shot one but I’ve held then a few times at the local gun store. I tried to love it but just no the pistol for me. That Kimber looks beautiful. When I was in the market years ago it was a toss up between the Sig Ultra 1911 and the Kimber. I picked the Sig and I’m glad I did.

The Hellcat is still the only gun with specs comparable to the standard-size P365. The only other gun in the game is the 43X, but it is closer in size to an P365XL than a standard P365.

Yeah. Comparing a P365 to a Kimber Micro 9 is apple and oranges. I bought my first SIG - a P938 - after comparing it to a Kimber. It was a close call, but the SIG won out. Incidentally, the 8-round Kimber mag fits the P938 without modification!

And... my P938 has been relegated to my gun safe once I got a P365.

OK, here's a little more confusion to throw into this mix. My EDC is a SIG 938. I love 1911's and the 938 is like a "mini-me" 1911. I'm one of those guys who doesn't like plastic or strikers.
And, BTW, the 365 is heavier and wider than the 938, not "smaller and lighter". And that mushy trigger doesn't come close to the 938 SA trigger.
All that said, I've looked at the P365 SAS several times and I can't get those sights out of my mind. If I stumble across one with a good price...

The SAS, seems like it's one fuzz ball away from not being able to use the sights...certainly is low drag though. But kimber nope, they are far from being what they once were many years ago.

They're virtually the same size. Technically the 365 is a tenth of an inch narrower and 1.8oz heavier lol.

Wow, that is telling. I know the 365 has a good trigger, but being much better than a single action is good to know. I'm assuming that is a super negative comment on the Kimber.

Kimbers certainly makes beautiful guns, but I do hear a lot of people perhaps disappointed with them for one thing or another, probable the price brings high expectations and a lot of them on the resale market, same with a Wilson combat, very attractive gun but why so many for resale

I always felt like width was never a well represented spec, because it takes into account the widest points with the controls. It can be misleading as the majority of the gun may be a smaller width than widest parts. I think the P938 is wider because of the removable grips. The rest of the gun is much slimmer. It may not show up on the specs, but you can feel the difference inside the waistband.

My point is size, and even weight, have little to do with the choice between these two. But we're going to have to agree to disagree on the trigger.
It really comes down to hammer & alloy versus striker & plastic.

A little off topic, but I love the 1911s. So I bought a P238 and P938. However, my EDC is a P365 MS w/ TLR-6, 12 rd mag, in a pocket holster.

My feelings exactly. Had a 365 and sold it for that very reason. My wife has a Micro 9 that I shoot well and really like the feel of.

1911’s have THE best triggers because there is no pivot but straight pull AND the trigger pull weight is pretty much infinitely adjustable via the 3-finger spring (primarily - other things may come into play too). No other guns on the market can tout that. So vis a vis triggers it has to go to the 1911’s - simply because if it ain’t what you want, you can MAKE it what you want. Try that with the 365.

OTOH recent Kimbers have had real quality issues. You may or may not have gotten a great gun - not what it once was where Kimbers were great quality and fair price. Springfield has taken that spot, and they don’t make a Micro 9 - or I bet it would be a great seller.

I have an Ultra CDP but it’s OLD. I have an S&A magwell/mainspring backstrap on it and it makes it much easier to grip in my big paw. Still a small gun, with those issues, both positive and negative (for 1911’s - operating space is the biggest one; no shok-buffers or you run the risk of malfunction). My gun is a .45, so there really isn’t a comparison, but I wouldn’t give mine up for anything.

I have looked at the 365 SAS. I absolutely LOVE those crazy sights BUT on the range, in low light, they just don’t show well. Yes, you can look over the top of the slide and put your shots where they count in a silhouette, but it’s without the sights. But to me, the far bigger issue is the take-down switch and slide stop. I realize they are the way they are for “sleekness” but I find them kind of useless. I am not a slingshot reloader - too many years with a 1911, some shooting IPSC, make mag reloads a slide stop natural for me. I have an old 229 (no rail) and an old 228 slide and locking block, so I can make it a .357 Sig or a 9mm with little difficulty. Both variants use the 229 frame slide lock which is very amenable to slide-lock reloads. What’s to not love.

My everyday carry was a Micro 9 for 2 years, great pistol not a single issue. I switched to a 365 a year ago, mostly for the 12 rounds. I like it, but I am more accurate with the Micro 9.

I agree 100% that the P365 is the better carry gun, but if it has a better trigger than your Kimber then I'd get that fixed.

I've never seen the appeal to those metal frame SA single stack micro pistols personally. They weigh more which is a down side if concealment and/or comfort is that much of a concern, and are super limited on capacity.

I'm a bit of a Kimber fanboy and I liked the hand feel of the Micro 9, but there were just too many negative reviews + the lower capacity.
Sadly, it seems Kimber's quality is not what it used to be (at least in regard to the Micro series).

That said, I still keep cycling back to their Ultra & Pro Carry 45's as a replacement for my ancient 1911

What gun compares to a Kimber Micro 9?

The P938 and the Micro 9 are Sig Sauer's and Kimber's response to that call. The two handguns are similar in size and come in a variety of finishes. Also, both models are available with either 6 or 7-round extended magazines. There are only slight differences between comparable variations from each manufacturer.

What gun is better than SIG P365?

Shop for the Best Prices on In Stock Glock 43Xs But a Glock 43x with a 15-round magazine is smaller than the SIG P365 with the same capacity. If you're going to carry it with a 15-round magazine, then the Glock 43x might be a better value.

Is SIG P365 still the best?

Conclusion. The Sig Sauer P365 is now one of the most popular CCW pistols due to its large capacity, reliability, tiny size, great trigger, and upgrade potential. Plus it's fun to shoot and comes in several varieties like the P365 XL and SAS models. It's my favorite subcompact 9mm so far.

Is a Kimber Micro 9 considered a 1911?

The Kimber Micro 9mm is a 1911 style subcompact 9mm pistol.
