He acknowledged that he had "stepped the line" and behaved inappropriately with another lady, but he denied having an affair. The 43-year-old Maroon 5 frontman responded to the accusations for the first time after Instagram influencer Sumner Stroh, 23, made a public admission on Monday that she had an extramarital affair with the singer last year. Following his supermodel wife's announcement of their third child's impending arrival, Levine said he wanted to "clear the air" on the speculations swirling about him in a message posted to social media on Tuesday. "I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner," the singer said. "I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life. In certain instances, it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family," Levine added. "My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this na�ve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again," he continued. "I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together." Stroh originally made the allegation in a TikTok video she aired on Monday, when she said she had been dating Levine for "almost a year" and shared screenshots of their flirtatious conversations. The shocking information caused a social media frenzy, with haters blasting the young model for ostensibly choosing to date a married man. But because Levine, 43, allegedly persuaded Stroh that he and his supermodel wife of eight years were no longer together, Stroh, who had recently relocated to Los Angeles, had 'naively' felt that he wasn't being unfaithful. In a subsequent TikTok video, she admitted, " The most important part that I definitely glossed over was the fact that I was under the impression that their marriage was over." "'I believed they were keeping it quiet to avoid the negative press because, as I had said, I was new to LA so I just assumed that with celebrities of the caliber that's just how it was," she continued. "And that's why I feel exploited because he knew I believed everything he said because of my vulnerable position of being new to LA."
