Hyeonu Kim is the main protagonist of the webnovel and webtoon series, The Advanced Player of the Tutorial Tower. He is apparently a young adult that was cursed to be trapped inside of a training tower for over the past 12 years with nothing, no food, drinks, friends, technologies, etc other than training, and fighting monsters. PersonalityDue to being a strong fighter that can outperform others, Kim's personality is overall carefree, stubborn, extremely reckless, a little over-confident, resourceful, optimistic, and has a laid-back spirit, he seems to act like the type of person who thinks that they can do anything, and everything, any time, and anywhere they want without having any consequences being brought back to them. He also had some form of degree in being a very disregarding person, and a pretty short-temper when he gets confused (especially when nobody gives him hints, or more information, but keeps on making him becoming more confuse than ever.) Other than this, he seems to be someone who doesn't care whether if the peoples he's hiring are weak, or strong to be a part of his guild, because Kim doesn't accept the peoples who are downright inconsiderate, and only cares for themselves but not others. He had shown to even declined a powerful fighter that is famously known to be a strong C-Rank dungeon raider just because his attitude involves being selfish towards others. Yet, he won't hesitate but to kill any greedy, or evil doers that tries to harm him, his world, or the innocence. It is also stated that Kim has in himself an indomitable willpower, because, over the manhwa, it is revealed that even when he is forced to be resurrected and die multiple times, he never gives up. Origins/HistoryAt a very young-age, Kim lost his parents when he was just a child, he is sent to an orphanage in which he apparently lived a life of being bullied by others, when he grew up at the age of a young-adult, he got a job as working at a construction site, and has to go through a lot hardships. However, no matter how miserable his life gets, he never gives up, and always stands up to the challenge no matter what. A few years later, Kim's world suddenly begins to have these strange towers, and underground lairs that appears out of nowhere containing thousands of hostile monsters inside of it, he eventually did as what everyone has done, to awaken himself by going through the tutorial tower. However, unfortunately for him, Kim somehow got himself into a situation in which after completing the tutorial session with his friends he made during the raid, he ends up being cursed by the tower to be stuck in it for over 12 years. For first, Kim struggles to find a way in order to get out, but after losing hope in returning to his own world, he eventually ends up accepting his fate as turning the tutorial tower into his new home. Over the past years, Kim has did nothing other then training, fighting monsters, and cosplaying himself to be an NPC, or a person who works with multiple occupations that leads multiple peoples who joins the tutorial tower into success. Kim also copes with his loneliness through fighting the monsters to kill time. As he knows that he has no chance in getting out of the tower no matter how much efforts he puts into it, it is also implied that one of the reasons that makes him given up is because he soon came to know that the authorities was well aware that he is trapped inside here, but can't do anything because the tower is roam with monsters. Not long after 12-years have passed, the curse was lifted, and Kim eventually escapes the tower, now, being a very powerful human being that is more advance than any of the fighters in his own world. Powers and AbilitiesSupernatural BodyDue to spending 12 years of nothing other than training, and fighting to become stronger. Kim's physical abilities are glaringly, obviously and super/unnaturally physically superior over other beings in his universe because his capabilities are far beyond natural levels, making him immensely stronger, faster, and more durable than regular beings (in his verse) can achieve by seemingly any method of training. MagicHe has access to magic, the use of spells, potions, objects, and various other magical powers, allows him to exploit supernatural forces to varying degrees, with only their skill, personal power-level, imagination/knowledge, and/or morality to define the borders. All magic is fueled by magical energies like mana, which is the energy that is used to form magic, without the necessary energy or source to fuel magic into existence it would be simply be powerless practices and pure myths. Supernatural CombatKim possess immense combat skills, both offensive and defensive, that far surpass other beings of his verse. His skills are highly innate superhuman, honed and both. This encompasses speed, strength, precision, reflexes, technique, analysis, control, adaptation, and all aspects of practical fighting. Depending on the users, they may be specialized in specific types of weaponry (melee, ranged, natural, etc.), and invariably wield them with surreal efficiency, or possess incredible unarmed combat skill or have superhuman proficiency to utilize magic or their superpowers in combat and can perform inconceivable supernatural feats. Most observers are simply incapable to understand what's happening, with only a user being able to gauge the skill of another. Mystical Martial ArtsKim can utilize mystical combat in multiple forms of martial arts. Many of those who train in martial arts gain superhuman capabilities by learning to harness multiple forms of magic or other supernatural abilities. Some techniques are often either a form of excellence or perfection of an existing martial art and sometimes users of the original tend to change or innovate the martial art to make it their own. Relationships:Ares GuildKim and Ares seemingly have a rivalry relationship, after he refuses to accept the deal in joining Ares, the leader had made multiple attempts to get Kim in regretting his decisions for declining their offer. However, as time passes by, the leader begins to have an insane amount of hatred towards Kim and he would go so-far to even trying to convicted murder by hiring as many assassins to target Kim, which all of them ends up meeting their demise because nobody could outperform his superhuman physical capabilities, and skill martial arts. The worst part is that the leader of the Ares Guild isn't fully aware of the fact that he is ruining his own image, and the guild itself, for because, whenever he wants to be spare from getting killed by Kim, he has to paid Kim an insane amount of funding in order to live and fight another day, which this is one of the reasons that makes him slowly loses his own image. Seokwan HanHan appears to be the only person among the friends of Kim to have no grudges about his carefree, and disregarding personality, always appears to be optimistic. Seoyeon LeeShe is apparently one of the peoples who joined in a dungeon raid with Kim from 12 years ago, not long after, she becomes a magic-user that established a guild. She is very worried, and sometimes even develops high-anxiety towards Kim's reckless nature to the point where she even tries to hurt him with lightning spells. Sihyeon KimSihyeon Kim appears to have a rather neutral/gray view personality towards the disregarding, and laid-back nature of Kim, he always have a calm, but a little motionless, and rarely to be seen being faze towards a situation. AVAV appears as the assistant of Kim, serving as a mysterious artificial humanoid being that resembles to a young human female that is created by the scanning system which her sole purpose is to let Kim understand more about the history of the universe. However, AV usually struggles to hold onto her role as being patient, and having a peaceful conversation with Kim because of his confusion that led to his intimidating, and wrathful attitude, AV always have troubles with Kim because his confusion led to him being angered, and sometimes even threatens to beat her if she doesn't make the information that is provided for him more clearer. However, throughout the story, it is implied that AV does indeed have a human nature, as she expresses sympathy, and even apologize deeply for mentioning Kim's dead parents. Although, she behaves like an actual kid, as what we've seen so-far, it turns out, she's like a baby that needs to learn in order to understand, and develop something new, as it is shown that the more human activities she engages with, the more childish she behaves, as it was shown that she displays a really crybaby personality when Kim tries to confiscate her PlayStation. The ClimbersThe Climbers are apparently beings that are chosen for the purpose is to climb the tower. Currently, Kim was able to get rid of three climbers that attempts to wreak havoc in his layer. According to what it is known, one of the climbers that he defeated has claimed that the reason why all the climbers are wreaking havoc, and climbing the tower is because they wanted to sit on a throne. Which he later came to know, that these climbers are actually the so-called "former gods," which they are beings that lost their titles as gods who rules over something in the past and in order to regain that title they have climb a large tower that contains over hundreds, if not, thousands of dimensions within it and destroy all the layers to finally reach the last stage and reclaim their title. Mi Ryeong12-years ago, Kim has taken two mysterious girl as his disciples, which one of them, becomes the leader of one of the most fearful hunter guilds in the future, and established a cult of him. Kim's relationship with the Imperial leader is pretty much stable, but at the same time, complicated, because of his embarrassing actions from the past 12 years, Kim eventually causes the girl to have some form of delusionality. Kim seemingly first have some complication with her, but later accepts her to be by his side. |
