The host of "Matty in the morning," Matty Siegel, is suspected of having an affair with his co-host, Lisa Donovan, as they unexplainably left the show on April 18. However, Siegel returning to the show on Tuesday, announced his retirement from his career. Seventy-two years Matty had been hosting the legendary show since 1981, and Lisa had joined him as co-host in 2002. The show had led Siegel to win the National Association of Broadcasters' Marconi Award for the Personality of the Year in 2001 & 2009. Likewise, he got enlisted in the Massachusetts Broadcaster's Hall of Fame in 2012. Since the host and co-host of "Matty in the morning" left the show, the audience was puzzled. Are they having an affair? The audience suspected after the two left the show uncomplainingly. During his announcement on the radio on May 2, Matty told how much he loves his wife and kids. Siegel is a father of four and is married to Maryanne Siegel. On the other hand, Donovan is the mother of two kids and is married to Tim. Both seem to have a decent marital life with their respective partners and do not have an extramarital affair. Billy Costa, who has been hosting the show after Matty and Lisa left, said they are dealing with family matters without further explanation. The show producers, Aguirre and Winnie Akoury, have not talked about the matter openly. Stating the condition, Akoury said, "We don't know what's going on and can't talk about it. We are not attempting to withhold anything from anyone. What's going on has nothing to do with the three of us, and we have no idea what's going on. "We only know that we're here to do our jobs." He announced his decision through a pre-recorded message on Tuesday morning. "I agree with my family that it is time to walk away. I love you guys. " His words have made the audience emotional. Matty explained the roughness of his health over the past year and told about his brain surgery and broken foot. The facts somehow increased his temper, which he did not prefer as he loves people making him laugh. The former host became emotional, telling his decision, and remembered his wonderful years throughout his works. He thanked his fellows and fans for being there when needed.
