Lately, I’ve been dreaming of another man other than my husband.

These dreams have left me feeling guilty.

Specifically: I’ve had a similar dream twice of an old high school flame and both of them stuck with me.

What does it all mean?

1) You’re getting in touch with your masculine side

Famous psychologist Carl Jung believed that each of us contains elements of the masculine and feminine, which he called the animus and anima.

For women, getting in touch with their masculine side is part of integrating and becoming a whole person.

This includes resolving and benefiting from joyful and challenging experiences and interactions with masculinity in their upbringing and outer life.

Like I said, my recent dreams have been of an old flame from high school, so I can’t slate my case into the platonic category. That’s part of what’s got me a bit worried.

I’d like to think that I’m not the type to dwell in the past or get hung up over an ex and let missing him sabotage my current marriage. After all, I know it would be very unhealthy and unfortunate if that were to happen…

In some situations, dreaming of another man other than your husband can mean that you’re tempted to cheat on your husband.

It could be a dude you just happened to see working at the mechanic when you took your car…

Or a news anchor on TV who was looking mighty fine…

But if you notice there’s a sexual or romantic element to your dream of another guy then it’s best to be honest with yourself.

The desire to cheat happens to the best of us, and pushing it down or saying it doesn’t exist won’t make it go away.
