Mazda cx-5 sport vs touring reddit

Hi everyone. My wife and I have settled on a CX-5 for our new car. Only question is whether we save some money and get the Sport or spend a bit more on the Touring. Aside from the dark blue exterior only available on the Touring and the suede inserts to the seats, are there any major differences worth spending up for that people could recommend? We're looking to lease, not buy at this time

Thanks!

Edit: wound up being a $10 monthly difference between the sport and touring so went with the deep crystal blue touring with black interior. Thanks everyone for the advice!

Gonna focus on the 2019 since I'm a bit more familiar with that. I wrote this comparison touring vs sport a while back. Was made for 2021 sport vs 2020 touring but most of it still applies to 2019 (except for the new infotainment).

Adding on to that, on 2019, carplay/android auto is standard on touring and higher (same for the safety sensor features).

The tldr if you don't wanna read all that, for the ~$2k price increase from sport to touring, the added changes are definitely worth it

I believe the Sport is missing many features of the Grand Touring. You could save more money, and get more features, while still having warranty.

Also, u/Staas has a great suggestion.

Tip - Check the tires to see if they need replacing, soon. New tires could add another $900 to your cost.

Folks, I am looking to buy Mazda CX-5. I narrowed down to Touring and Grand Touring. GT seems to have additional features. Is GT worth the additional 4K collared to T?

So glad you asked this question. I was in your position for the last 11 months was trying to decide between a GT and a touring also. Choosing a 2021 touring with the SV preferred package ended up giving me the Best of both worlds. The 2021 touring SV preferred package is essentially the GT without the increased price tag. The SV gives you the 10 Bose speakers, moon roof, power lift gate, auto dimming rear view mirror, and a few other things. The price difference was reasonable and the quality of the speakers and other features are great. Don’t overspend for the grand touring label when you can get the same high quality features for another package. I was even considering the reserve because I thought I wanted the heads up display. After driving 4000 miles I’ve since realized I’m glad I didn’t get the reserve, it would’ve become annoying pretty quick. Try comparing the features you want vs the ones available on the SV package and make your choice from that info. :) wish you the best!! You can’t go wrong, even Mazda’s base level sport is gorgeous and has great elements to it in it’s simplicity. You’ll love it regardless ✨ 🚙

+1 for the Touring with SV Preferred package. It's a fantastic deal without having to pay for the GT label

Thanks for this info!! I will get quotes for both T with SV preferred package and GT premium packages and compare. I test drive BMW with HUD and was fascinated by it. Surprised your comment that you found it annoying. Can you explain a bit? Thanks again :)

Btw, the dealer gave me the quote for GT with premium pkg. it’s 34.8K USD.

One of the few things that you can't get on the Touring, even with the preferred package, are auto power-folding mirrors. One of my cars has them and I swear I can't go back.

If you’d rather have the features than the money, then it’s worth it.

Love the heads up display too!! Never have to take eyes off the road — except to make sure I am good on gas. 😂

Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring all wheel drive in metallic sky blue💙💙💙 fucking love it! Not my first Mazda…always loved these bitches😁

I think your deciding factor is really choosing the options you’d like - they should both hold value and be highly reliable (based upon reviews). Choose which vehicle will still make you happy in 10 years - the cost difference is negligible when you look at it over ten years.

I had a 2021 CE and traded it nine months later with 23k miles - my trade value was ~$2k less than my original price and the dealer promptly put it on the lot $3k above original MSRP.

I picked up a 2022 PP+ below MSRP - more options than the CE, same payment. I plan to keep this one 10 years (unless another family emergency racks up the miles like the last car! Ha).

What is the difference between sport and touring cx5?

The Touring offers a headlight upgrade and swanky interior materials along with its other upgrades, accounting for the $2,265 difference between these vehicles. For most people, the interior of the Touring model easily justifies the increased price.

Is the Mazda CX

"The CX-5's standard 187-hp four-cylinder engine has great throttle response when pulling away from stoplights or hustling around town, so it feels quicker than it actually is. It's at higher speeds, such as when trying to pass or merge onto the freeway, that it feels underpowered.

What is the difference between Mazda 5 Touring and Grand Touring?

The Grand Touring trim adds on to what the Touring trim offers, with a power moonroof, 8-way power driver seat with lumbar support and 2-position memory, navigation, 10-speaker Bose audio system, and more.

What is the difference between CX

The Mazda CX-5 Touring has daytime running lights, powered side mirrors with turn signal indicators, and a manual liftgate. The Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring adds LED fog lamps and taillights, adaptive front lighting, heated side mirrors, and a powered liftgate with programmable height functionality.
