Show This book should have just stood with explaining the dangers of celebrating Halloween and why every professing Christ-follower should stay far far away. They did an ok job of explaining the history behind it but then they turn around and make it seem like it’s ok to celebrate the other pagan holidays. They demonize Halloween (rightfully so) by saying: “ The Bible tells us that Christians should have nothing to do with witchcraft and evil spirits. Halloween may not seem the same to us as it was way back then, but it is still celebrated the same way in many places all over the world“ Yet turn around and glorify the other pagan holidays. For those who don’t know, this quote above is exactly what is happening when you celebrate Christmas and Easter. Just look up the history yourselves and you’ll start to see that the evil history isn’t much different than Halloween. This book talks about how the Romans took Halloween and made it acceptable so that more people can convert to Christianity without needing to give up their pagan traditions. Which is true, but Don’t even get me started on Easter aka Ishtar which has nothing to do with the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We should be honoring his resurrection during Passover because He was the perfect and LAST sacrificial Lamb that was slain for the sins of the whole world! Halleluyah! What the Romans did was actually very sinister... They knew that if they just slapped Jesus Christ name on it they would deceive so many people to think that these holidays actually honor Him when sadly it doesn’t. God made appointed Feast Days which don’t just belong to the Jews. The Bible says they belong to ALL of Gods people! So please don’t celebrate Halloween, that should be a given to those who say they love God, we shouldn’t celebrate any of those man made holidays. If we want to honor Him in spirit and truth then honor Him how He commands, His appointed days. God bless all those who have an ear to hear 🙏🏽❤️

I will be honest--I only read this book to hate it. But I will try to give a balanced review.
I'm in shock that a book like this is still being published and read in the 21st century! As a teacher, I had a parent asking me to use it in a reading session; while proof-reading before taking it to the
classroom, I was appalled by how misguided the author was, and how misleading and prejudiced the narrative is. Being born and raised Roman Catholic, I still found disturbing how inaccurately the facts are presented. As an educator, I will not be reading this to my students, and would never reco As an educator, I will not be reading this to my students, and would never recommend it to any of my peers. First, because my classrooms are composed by children of diverse religious backgrounds, and I find it disrespectful to
privilege only ONE religion, knowing I'd never be able to cover all the others. Second, mine is a literacy class - covering religious views isn't part of the curriculum... And lastly, because my duty as a teacher is to provide KNOWLEDGE and introduce core topics that are relevant and suitable to the kids, stimulating them to learn and discuss their findings in a respectful, diplomatic and orderly manner in order to promote a healthy development of their skills. And this book DEFINITELY goes
against the principles of acceptable teaching.
A terrible book that has a lot of mixed up history & trying to say Halloween is Satan's religious holiday. Not impressed. A terrible book that has a lot of mixed up history & trying to say Halloween is Satan's religious holiday. Not impressed. ...more

day. A day that is mean't to worship Satan should never be turned into a celebration of Bible character night. God deserves greater respect than that! Why would we want to participate in something like that when we are suppose to give all of the glory to God? It is absolutely wrong trying to change Halloween into a candy holiday or a Bible character night and saying it is alright to celebrate. It does not honor God and it does not give God any glory. Read this book and I pray that God will
change your heart about Halloween. Thanks to a friend who let me borrow this!
Oct 14, 2015 Janet rated it did not like it A book for radicals by radicals. They take an innocent celebration and
link it to evil.
Nov 19, 2020 Anya rated it did not like it I found this book as a good example of someone being uneducated about something and then deciding to write an opinionated essay about it. Christianity decided to overlap holidays so then the pagans would have to go to their church. Oct 30, 2020 Alexia M rated it did not like it Christmas was originally a pagan holiday. Why do Christians celebrate that?
The only reason I’m not giving this book 5 stars, is because I honestly don’t think the harvest festival, introduced in the last two pages of the book are honoring to God... Nov 22, 2021 Alyvia rated it did not like it This book is about why a Christian family doesn’t celebrate Halloween.
They describe Halloween as an evil Holiday that doesn’t bring joy. They say that without a history or purpose behind the Holiday, they don’t want to celebrate it. The book is illustrated in black and white to look like a picture book. The illustrations are thick and cartoonish reminding me of Christian book illustrations I saw growing up. I hated this book. Understandable for any age I liked the conversational style of this book. My children could relate to the questions from the mom's children. They were shocked at the true origin
of Halloween. Also, the comparison with important Christian holidays that glorify Jesus, helped them to understand how this was not the case with Halloween. I needed this book! I was looking for a book to read to my kids as to why we don’t celebrate Halloween. This book did a great job explaining the details without being too wordy and I love the
pictures! Thank You to the author for being obedient to God!
Plain and easy for me and my kids to understand I grew up not celebrating Halloween but never really understood why. This book helped me to explain to my 6 year old why we don’t celebrate Halloween as Christians.
