Times were tough doing this on his own, so he bought in his Uncle Charlie (William Demarest) as their housekeeper. Chip (Stanley Livingston), Robbie (Don Grady) and Earnie (Barry Livingston) Douglas were raised by their father and uncle Charley. They had a guest star on the show every week while it aired, who were played by famous actors and actresses. Throughout the years, the sons grew up and got married, so Steven Douglas added wives and grandchildren to his family. Then another adopted son became part of his family along with his step daughter before the show went off the air. My Three Sons ran from 1960-1972.
