If you use an Ooze vape pen regularly, you know that it's 5 clicks to turn on/off, 3 clicks to change the temperature setting, and 2 clicks to activate preheat mode. With each click, your vaporizer pen button will illuminate green. However, if your vape battery is blinking green when you aren’t clicking any buttons, something is probably wrong. In this article, we will explain the top reasons your Ooze vape pen is blinking green. Plus, we will show you how to spot a counterfeit Ooze pen battery and instructions to reporting suspected Ooze counterfeits.

WHY IS MY OOZE PEN BLINKING GREEN? 

There are three main reasons your Ooze vapor pen may be blinking green: 

1. Your vape battery is dead and needs to be charged. 
2. Your Ooze battery is experiencing a connection issue. 
3. Your vape pen was damaged on its way to you from the factory. 

1. YOUR OOZE VAPE PEN IS DEAD AND NEEDS TO BE CHARGED 

One of the most common reasons your Ooze pen is blinking green is because the battery has died and needs to be charged. When your Ooze vapor battery is dead, it will typically flash green 10-15 times. Start by plugging it into the charger. If the pen lights up green and the charger lights up red, your pen is dead!

Once your pen reaches full charge, the charger light will turn green and the pen light will shut off, notifying you that your pen is good to go with full battery life.

If a dead battery is not your problem and your pen is still blinking, you might be experiencing another common problem: a connection issue. 

2. YOUR VAPORIZER PEN IS HAVING A CONNECTION ISSUE  

When your battery is having a connection issue, the battery will typically blink green 4-5 times. There are two ways you can have a connection issue, either your cartridge is leaking, you have an irregular-sized cartridge or a deformed coil.  

Due to the nature of vape pens, a lot of pre-filled cartridges leak. Unfortunately, even the smallest amount of leakage can prevent the oil cartridge from making a good connection with your battery. Luckily, there are a few tricks to fix the connection.

The most common cleaning method is to grab a cotton swab and dip the tip in rubbing alcohol. While this will do the trick, excess liquid on or around your battery is never a good thing. After swabbing both the bottom of the cartridge and the connection point on the battery, wait until both piece are completely dry before putting them back together and turning it on.

An equally effective cleaning method is to have a pack of Ooze Resolution Res Wipes on hand! These wipes are specially designed to cut through resin and wax residue, and one side has little scrubber dots that really go to town on the dirt. Lay a wipe over the connection point of the battery, and use your q-tip to push it down on the connection and scrub the grime away. Once clean, screw the cartridge back on the device.

If this doesn’t work, it could be because your cartridge is an irregular size or has a deformed coil. Sometimes you can solve this issue by simply tightening or loosening the cartridge until you find that sweet spot that makes a good connection. If your cartridge is just simply not compatible with a 510 threaded battery, it might be time to look for a new brand!

It can be nearly impossible to tell by looking at it, but now and again legitimate dispensary cartridges will, unfortunately, have a deformed coil. This means that the hardware doesn't line up correctly with the heating element of the battery, forcing the error. To determine if this is your issue, try a different cart that you know has worked with your pen before. This can be an empty cart, or just an old one laying around. If this other cartridge works, then the issue is with the new cartridge. Many dispensaries understand that this can happen, and will be willing to swap it out for a different, working one. It never hurts to ask! If neither cartridge works, then the cartridge's hardware is not the cause of the problem.

We recommend only purchasing cartridges from a licensed dispensary (both for safety reasons and the simple fact that you are more likely to get a high-quality cartridge) as these irregular carts can lead to irreparable damage to your Ooze pen over time. 3. YOUR BATTERY HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY DAMAGED

If you’ve tried and ruled out the first two reasons your pen could be blinking green and followed our fix-it tips, your Ooze battery might be permanently damaged. If this is the case, you will have to get a new one and it might even be covered under warranty.

HOW TO SPOT FAKE OOZE BATTERIES

As the popularity of vaping increases, so does the number of counterfeit batteries on the market. If your battery is acting strange and you didn’t buy it from our website, it's important to verify if your Slim Twist vape battery is a real Ooze product or a counterfeit. Counterfeit vape pens are extremely dangerous and are not regulated to the high-quality standards the Ooze Team requires. Fake vapor batteries are notorious for overheating and breaking right out of the package.
