Red dead online how to call hunting wagon

Red dead online how to call hunting wagon

Just unlocked it (thank god!) and drove around with it stockpiling carcasses and whatnot until it was full but wondering how do I dismiss it when I'm not using it and call it when I want it? I read someone here does that and all there carcasses remained intact when they called it. Thanks for the help.

level 1

Easy - select it from the stable listing on your player options. Select the vehicle and then dismiss. You can call it back 2 minutes later. Dismiss your horse and get it back same way.

level 1

Left on the D-Pad, stables, vehicles

level 1

If you get disconnected do the pelts disappear like on the horse or do they stick around like in the satchel?

level 2

your wagon is persistent.

level 1

My biggest problem with the hunting wagon is the hunting wagon not being able to get to me, even though I am standing on a road with a pile of carcasses off my horse.

If I pick up a carcass to take to the wagon, all the others disappear once I am out of range.

I hunt 2-3 perfect carcass, dismiss my horse, call my wagon and fill it up, dismiss my wagon and call my horse, to turn it in later. The stuff don't despawn inside of it, best thing ever.

Oh wow you can call the wagon like your horse? That’s awesome. I thought you had to drive it around which I thought would be cumbersome. So when you dismiss it your goods are protected?

Not exactly. You have to dismiss your horse, and then call your vehicle from the menu. You also need to be near a road, otherwise it won't spawn.

The wagon's cargo functions like the satchel. The only way it can lose it's cargo is if you discard or sell it.

That’s great. Nice to know once I put a carcass in there it’s safe.

I failed to stop in time, and rode mine off a cliff. Cost me $8 for the insurance cost, destroyed the wagon and killed the horse, but it came back in fine shape the next time I wanted to use it - and the hides and carcasses I'd put in it before "the incident" (lol) were still there, and still perfect! :D

Nice to know I can use it, dismiss it, then call it back again. Very handy, that.

I just wish I could keep a wider selection of weapons with me on it. I want my bow and rolling block rifle for hunting, but I also want the bolt action and a repeater for any ne'er-do-wells that want to grief me.

And I'm new enough to the wagon that I keep forgetting to check my weapons before I call it, so I don't get caught out with the wrong weapons once I'm on the wagon.

I paid the $125 for vehicle insurance straight away. I've wrecked my wagon twice and can recall it for free.

shame that it can only hold 5 carcasses maximum though. seems a bit pointless to do what the TC said and keep calling/dismissing your wagon every time you get 2-3 carcasses. especially as it takes at least 4 wagon loads of pristine carcasses to fill your materials.

It is not a shame!. I have been able to hold 1 cougar, 3 dears and a buck in my wagon, that more than enough and alot more than I thought we would be able to hold.

TC strat is using the Wagon to gain passive income. Going on a mission and then you see 2 perfect bucks? Kill them summon wagon and store them and dismiss wagon, now you have 2 carcasses that you could potentially get a 500% return on investment from. doing this you never really have to going out hunting for materials any more.

yeah but what I'm saying is 2 pristine carcasses is not enough. that's going to fill your bar by about 10% which will probably last you about 20mins before your materials run out and you have to get some more carcasses.

imo you're better off just dedicating 20-30mins to getting a couple wagon loads of carcasses and then when the bar is 50% full you can then go off and do some missions or whatever.

getting pristine carcasses is not that difficult.

So is it better to turn in full animals unskinned compared to donating all of their parts? If yes, how big is the difference? So far I've skinned all animals I ever caught, which of course left me with carcasses I couldn't turn in to Cripps. But I also don't have the hunting wagon yet.

conduit 3 years ago#10

^yes. you're better off donating full carcasses. I can't remember the exact values but I think a Pristine deer carcass is worth a lot more than a Pristine deer pelt. and a Pristine Rabbit carcass is worth the same value as a 2 star deer carcass.

A pristine deer carcass fills the bar up by about 5%. If you ride back to camp with 1 pristine deer carcass and 2 pristine rabbit carcasses, that's about 10% of your materials bar filled. Then you just ride out and get some more.

All of the other things like the horns, teeth, pelts don't seem to be worth very much by themselves.

Birds aren't worth crap. Feathers (like owl/hawk/eagle/pelican/spoonbill, etc.) are still better to sell to the butcher anyway. I've tried Pristine Turkeys and they're worth next to nothing.

Bison Pelts for some reason are extremely low value as well. Elk pelts are good and roughly equivalent to a deer carcass, but even a 2 star rabbit is worth more than a pristine Bison skin.

Things like foxes and badgers are good if they're pristine and I think have the same value as the rabbits.

Why can't I call out my hunting wagon rdr2 online?

There is one fix for that hunting wagon, but you have to repeat this in every session again: Go to stables and select the hunting wagon, drive out of the stables with it. and Dismiss it. Now you can call it again where ever you want, but only in this session.
