Red dead online legendary bounty payout

So yesterday I did my first legendary bounty. When I got home from work my mate had already played this bounty hunt three times which raised the difficulty level each time he did it again. So when I did it for the first time together with him the difficulty level was four stars. In our second try we managed to capture all three targets alive in the jail wagon and we drove back to Tumbleweed. We got attacked a couple of times on our way back but when we reached the town limits the attacks stopped. So far so good ...

When we reached Tumbleweed my friend asked me to not deliver the wagon immediately to the sheriff. Instead we went to the Saloon and spent about fifteen minutes there before we delivered, because my friend said, that taking more time for the mission would ultimately increase our payout, even if there wasn't a timer for the bounty hunt.

So my question is: is this true? What are your experiences regarding the payout for the legendary bountys?

In the end I received exactly $119.62 plus 0.4 gold plus 2116 Bounty Hunter xp as well as around 660 regular xp.

RDO players often lack money or Gold necessary for role items, licenses, cosmetics and other things and the Bounty Hunter role can provide both if you're willing to wait a bit.

Bounty Hunter role in Red Dead Online is always a decent way of picking up Gold Nuggets but it's a bit lacking in the RDO$ department. Legendary bounties fix that issue partially and you can get quite a bit of experience along the way. The method we will be showing will have you swimming in both currencies and earning a lot of experience while not doing much - you don't even need to fire a single shot in some occassions.

The biggest solo earner - Etta Doyle bounty

Farming Etta Doyle in RDO is akin to farming The Bogdan Problem in GTAO. It's a quick in and out, with a chunky payout, relying on the game not working properly. Instead of resetting it, however, you will simply be doing this Legendary bounty every hour as the cooldown wears off. Why this exact bounty? Because it's extremely easy and even beginner players can complete it at five stars and earn a good payout.

Start the bounty at any board and you will be transported to Saint Denis. Once the cutscene is done, simply run straight ahead until you reach the entry to the small tunnel.

Enter and wait at the corner for Doyle's gang to show up.

There will be four bounty markers at this point, three of them being fake. Just keep waiting in the tunnel until three of these markers disappear and Etta is the only one left.

When that happens, sneak just outside the tunnel, close to the boxes immediately to your left. Wait for Etta to say "For Chrissake, there is no loot. This is a sham girls, we need to get out of here, quick!".  She will then start running so prepare your lasso.

As Etta is running towards the gate where you came in, catch up with the outlaw and hogtie her. There will be numerous members of her gang around but they will all be running out and ignoring you, so there is no need to shoot anyone. A few might fire your way but will go back to ignoring you rather quickly.

Once you have Etta, stow her on your horse and ride out. There will be a carriage full of her gang members in front so make sure you run past them quickly - they will not give chase.

When you reach the Saint Denis police department, don't turn the bounty in immediately. The longer you wait, the bigger the payout will be. Since the base payout is already large, the multiplier will be that much better. I normally wait 10-12 minutes in front of the yellow zone on the map, which normally nets me the optimal multiplier.

This is because multiplier increase after 12 minutes in a bounty instance will become lower than before that mark so you will be better off doing something else eventually. On top of that, you will need to get the Legendary Bounty timer to start ticking as soon as possible so you can nab Etta again.

Between the waits, you can go AFK, complete regular bounties or do other Role stuff, making this one of the best ways to earn a quick buck every now and then in RDO . In case you have no other Roles and want to get the most out of your regular bounties, make sure to bring them alive and wait just before handing them over, like Etta. These bounties have timers though so handing them in with 10 seconds or less to spare yields the best results.
