Red light in the sky not moving

Please tell me it's not only people in my town that have seen it!!

At around 5:10pm throughout to 5:20pm I was walking with my sister and my two cousins to Pizza Express. I looked up in the sky and saw a flashing red light, didn't think much, but then I looked up again and it kept flashing every 5 seconds or so.

It was NOT moving, not a plane, 100% guaranteed. I told my sister and cousins, they looked up and thought it was mysterious.

Before you say, I do not believe in aliens or UFOs, but that was just strange. I must repeat it was NOT moving. It was a bright light flashing in the sky and didn't move position for over 10 minutes, it then disappeared completely.

What happens if you see red light in the sky?

If there are any clouds overhead, the red light illuminates them, creating a spectacular sunrise. When weather moves west to east, a red sky at night means that there are clouds overhead, but clear skies to the west — which tells you that the weather will likely be clearing up.

Does a satellite have a red light?

Individual satellites never deviate in their velocity (speed and direction). They can be distinguished from aircraft because satellites do not leave contrails and do not have red and green navigation lights. They are lit solely by the reflection of sunlight from solar panels or other surfaces.

What is the red blinking star in the sky?

Antares, also called alpha Scorpii, is a prominent star in Scorpius (the Scorpion), a constellation that is visible in the southern night sky of most locations in the Northern Hemisphere. Antares is about 604 light-years from Earth.

Do satellites flash red?

Satellites glow and do not flicker, blink or twinkle. The twinkling of objects in the sky is a result of atmospheric turbulence. Satellites can not possibly glow red and blue since the sunlight that falls on them is a bright white light.
