This is a good purchase especially working moms who have limited time to paint sparkles across their kids walls. I had to apply 4-5 coats for it to take on white walls.

A little disappointed in the fact that I purchased a "pack of 2" but only got one jar in the mail.

This is a very unique product. I used this for the rough, wood, back wall of my original1950s basement bar. I was looking for something fun to coordinate with the vintage copper hinges and handles on the bar cabinetry. I applied 2 coats and for me it provides adequate sparkle. What I didn't realize is that this is very translucent, so your base coat totally affects the color of the end result. I tested several paint samples. Before applying the sparkle, you really need to have 2 coats of paint for a more consistent, solid color. It was also easy the clean up tools with soap and water. Overall, I am very happy with the end result.

I purchased the Iridescent color since it was listed as a clear coat. However there is a lot of green glitter mixed with blue glitter in this color and different from pictures . I was hoping it would be more neutral like silver sparkles. You will need more than one can for a room.half of the can only covered 1 wall with 1 coat. I am disappointed in the color. I love glitter but this color is more for a child’s room or someone who wants green glitter.

I love the concept and I wanted to love the paint. This paint needs to be stirred every 3 minutes of use. It's very thick and doesn't spread easily, which makes it near impossible to get a consistent, even coat. It is supposed to be clear, but there is a slight yellow tint to it, which is frustrating more when it doesn't cover evenly. It also emphasizes every imperfection in the wall and base paint. Anything that has been sanded will cover much less that other spots. In the end, I feel like the uneven coat left my room looking poorly painted and even dirty in spots where the yellow didn't spread as well.

The sparkles are beautiful and show up very well. It’s a bit tricky to get an even coat, and it drips easily. Multiple very thin coats are needed to ensure even coverage, not as thick a coat as you’d normally paint on a wall.

In the first picture I had just repainted my bookshelf a light grey concrete color, after Appling the glitter paint I noticed the color had changed, in the second and third picture it had become a peach pink hue color. The glittler paint is on there but its hard to see yhe glitter on camera. It's not a big change of color but you can definitely see the tinge of peach pinkish hue. So that kind of made me sad. I really liked the first paint I had put on the book shelf. I'm glad I wasn't doing a wall and then put this glitter paint on it after. The whole wall would of been peach pink.

The glitter looks really nice. And the more you put on the more it gets glittery. This is paint is fine if ur doing like a little kids room and u don't really care about the color scheme to much, but if ur trying to match furniture and you color has to be exact to what you want in the end product, I wouldn't choose this paint to go over it. It would ruin your end product unless you're going for a peach hue paint finish. It's cute and pretty but now it doesn't match my room exactly how I wanted my bookshelf to match with the other furniture. Oh wells. You live and you learn. Glad it was just a fun side project for me and nothing I'm taking to seriously. If anything I'll just replace the whole bookshelf In a few years if it gets to old looking anyways

Wish it was more glittery, but it did the job on the accent wall. They applied it onto the painted wall and in a small amount of paint. You see it when the sun hits.

I LOVE this iridescent glitter glaze!
In the video, I’ve painted the glaze over a Clark & Kensington paint color called Silver Glamour, which is silver grey with a hint of lavender.
I used two coats of the glitter, but Rustoleum suggests 3-4 coats. If I do that, I’ll need 40 cans for my project (15x25 ft room) and that feels ridiculous and expensive.
My room doesn’t get sunlight so trying to find a light to show off the amount of glitter on the walls was difficult. I used a flashlight in the video and a led stage light in the photo, that’s why the photo is that gorgeous purple. The true color of the wall is in the video.
I’ve tested this iridescent glaze on Tiffany Blue turquoise paint and didn’t like it, the Tiffany blue was too gorgeous on its own. Then I tested it on my 20-year-old off-white painted wall and it looked like I spilled water on the wall and there’s a water stain.
But this silver/grey/lavender paint was a perfect undercolor for the iridescent glitter.
Some notes for anyone who tries it:
- if you use a can over a few days or weeks (testing etc), the top of the can rusts fast, so rust particles get into the glaze. I picked them out as I rolled it on the wall. (Rust oleum - change to the plastic tops that Behr uses)
- use a large roller. I’ve painted this on using a brush, small roller, and large regular roller. The large regular roller has the most even application.
- it can be easily painted over! That’s the beauty of this. I’ve painted over this glitter on a wall three times with three different paints! The paint I’ve used is one-coat application paint but they fully cover the glitter...like it was never there. I’m sure if you shone light where the glitterwas, you’d likely see specks of glitter but I love that it covers so easily especially during all those tests I did.

Just finished a fantastic accent wall using this paint! The base is clear, so I painted my wall with a metallic pale gold as a base, then added more gold glitter in a slightly lighter gold as well as a holographic gold, stirred & painted away with a smooth foam roller. After 4 coats, the result speaks for itself! No buffing needed, either - BONUS! I would highly recommend following a similar process to what I did - metallic base coats, then adding at least 1 different shade of gold glitter for better coverage, depth & more light refraction. It can come out a tad dark, so I used a lighter base coat for that reason - couldn’t be happier. It holds up very well with no shedding & cleans up easily. The foam rollers seem to allow for better coverage with this paint, as well. I Highly recommend this paint for anyone wanting a little extra sparkle in their home.

How do you use Rust

Glitter Wall Paint can be applied by brush, roller or sprayer. It dries to the touch in 2 hours and additional coats can be applied to create a bolder look. The final result is a slightly textured, low-profile finish.

Is glitter paint messy?

Glitter is messy it gets everywhere! Once it is on your hands, it's on your face, it's in your hair, then door handles, benchtops, chairs and floors.

Can you use glitter paint on walls?

Glitter paint isn't usually used on multiple walls, although it can be. More often than not, it is used for a feature wall and usually in the bedroom. You can apply glitter interior wall paint to wood, metal, drywall, and plastic.
