The San Diego Jazz Fest is one of the longest running annual music festivals dedicated to celebrating jazz music of the early 20th Century. Since 1980, this event has been held during Thanksgiving weekend in San Diego, California, and features a variety of musical artists performing traditional jazz, swing, blues, ragtime, boogie woogie, gospel, and rhythm and blues. The fourth San Diego Smooth Jazz Festival is held annually at the picturesque Embarcadero Marina Park North the San Diego Marina. The location with all its skyline views, stunning water surroundings, and of course, music creates an unforgettable ambiance perfect for jazz lovers. No surprise that this vibrant event continues to be a shattering success and major tourist attraction in the city.
This three-day San Diego Smooth Jazz Festival starts at 2 pm and unites music lovers from around the world and includes performances by celebrated artists in a variety of genres, such as smooth, fusion, and blues. The festival features the best line-up for hot summer nights by the waterfront including such performers as Karen Briggs, Gerald Veasley, Rob Zinn, Willie Bradley, Eric Marienthal, Lao Tizer, ect. Genres combine the soothing smooth jazz from the nationally famous artists, delicious cuisine, and a great atmosphere. Vendors from all over San Diego county bring food and drink, including beer and wine.
Some events are open for the general public, while others are only available to a limited number of ticket holders. Many people come to the concerts with blankets and chairs, to sit back and relax in the park, while listening to some of the best jazz musicians in the world.
