I took my 12 year old foster son here and would have gotten much more out of the experience had he been willing to take more time so we could read the accompanying information in each exhibit. The collection is amazing in its size and a lot of thought has been put into the design of each exhibit. I hope to return some day with my physical therapist wife who I know will want to spend hours digesting all the information presented.

Really wonderful museum!!! At first glance, it looks small, but once you enter, it is packed with all sorts of wonderful bones!! It was really interesting to walk around in. Best part is that almost all of the bones are 100% real! Truly fascinating, highly recommend.

Ny two children & myself spent about 2.5 hrs at the "Bone Museum". My youngest is 7 & my oldest is 16. There was lots of really neat stuff & information. Both of my children really enjoyed looking and touching all the neat stuff they have. Majority of their collection is in cases, but some are not & you are able to touch. When we arrived we were greates by a young man who was just as friendly as he was polite. They really are very informative & eager to answer any & all questions you could have. We definitely enjoyed the afternoon & would recommend this place to anyone who is interested or just trying to find something to do!

Tiger Safari Zoological Park

Habitat for tigers, bears, lemurs & other wildlife with sunset safaris & interactive encounters.

Slide 1 of 4

Tiger Safari is an interactive, exotic zoological park located in Tuttle, Oklahoma. This 45-acre park is home to over 100 rescue animals. This isn’t just a drive-through park where you view the animals from your car.

I had an absolute blast at this facility! The owner takes pride in this zoo and it shows. Staff were professional, kind and respectful of all animals. Beautiful, high class cabins overlooking the facility. Immaculate, modern and comfortable amenities! So much to look at and learn. Brand new veterinary facility is being built onsite. 100% would recommend for families to traveling business people. Something for everyone!

Went on our last day of spring break. We paid 200 for our family of 5. Which included the admission for the park and the animal Incounter. We are able to hold snakes and pet other animals. My son loved this, he is very big into animals. The park is also great. We will return.

Absolutely amazing. Great staff and the rooms clean. We had the African hut #3 and it was perfect on the lake with a fountain. The mega vip pass was wonderful getting to feed so many animals. Absolutely a must!

Grand Casino Hotel & Resort

Polished venue with numerous dining options, plus a casino, spa & rooftop pool.

Slide 1 of 4

If you want to get away from the bustle and yet stay close to civilization, then the Grand Casino Hotel and Resort is the place for you. The presence of the Grand Spa in the hotel makes it one of the best spa hotels in Oklahoma City. It offers a complete range of services, including a host of signature spa packages.

This casino is always a lot of fun. More so when you get a machine that's hitting good, and that was exactly what happened here. Played for several hours until I decided to go "All in", but had a blast. Could have left $200 richer, but still had a good time with wife and friends. Ended up going to the bar and grill just outside the main casino downstairs, and had some great food. All in all, a great time.

For me, three stars is about the highest rating a tribal casino can receive. Perhaps if they made slot machine information/stats publicly accessible, then a five star rating could happen. That said, Grand Casino is a very nice casino. Of all the Oklahoma casinos I've visited (I have been to quite a few), it has the look and feel that most resembles a Vegas casino. It's clean, not smokey, and if I was smarter and less greedy I could walk out of there a winner on most visits. The 45 minute drive (longer during high traffic times) is definitely worth it.

I used to love this casino. Now never win. It feels rigged. Another lady and i were winning about a year ago . She was up 1600.00 I was up 500.00 as soon as I pulled my players card out of the machine...it immediately said DISABLED CALL ATTENDANT! That's rigged. It was hitting for an hour now curiously disabled. I've lost last 3x I've played ..beautiful place tight slots

Riverwind Casino

Casinos & Gambling

Hotel

Straightforward rooms in a lively hotel offering a casino, live entertainment & multiple eateries.

Slide 1 of 3

We stopped to eat since we were on the highway driving to spend time with the kids. It was on Christmas Day, so it was the only place to really have a meal other than burgers or hotdogs from gas stations m. The buffet was excellent!

I had so much fun at Riverwind tonight! The first machine I put $20 into I hit for $150. My fiancé decided to try the machine next to me and he hit for around $140. Then after spending another $60 I hit for another $120 and my fiance hit for another $153! All in all we had a lot of fun. They have a huge selection of slots to choose from, and although the tables were pretty full we could have found one or two to play at should we have wanted to do that. I also liked how there was at least 1 place still open to eat at when we were done at around 130am ( Burger King). There are a lot of restrooms all around so you don't have to look far when ya gotta go. The ONLY thing I didn't like is that we had such a hard time trying to find even ONE cashier so we could get our change that we ended up just leaving it behind after a good 10 minutes of walking around and looking. But Other than that we had A-blast. We were also able to park pretty close to the entrance so all in all I would say this casino should be a definite go to if you are in the mood to play. Two thumbs up from me!

That fact we were able to reserve my favorite room and it was available when we arrived was awesome. However she did inform us she could not promise us the room. New TV and some other things we notice from our last visit were fixed a+ Just wish they would decide putting in the microwave. Chips and Alyse is partly the reason they're not getting five stars and the coffee seems to be weak this go around. I will be back though.

Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History

Natural history museum

Museums

Banquet hall

In-depth exhibits chronicling natural & cultural history dating back 4 billion years, plus artwork.

Slide 1 of 3

So much fun here!! Our kids love all the dinosaurs, animals and hands on activities. So much to read and learn here. We've been so many times and still haven't read it all. Extra activities on the weekends, at least once a month and special offers for members are available, too! They have clean bathrooms & their staff are kind and helpful as well! (There is an elevator for those that need it too, woo!) We highly recommend Sam Noble Museum!

We drove down from Tulsa to visit with our 3 1/2 year old because he’s very into dinos right now. The museum itself is very nice and clean. Tons to look at but even more to read. If you’re a reader this is a great museum for you. There is a kids discovery room that was very hands-on and interactive - great for the kids to take a break and play. The gift shop is wonderful too, they even have some $1.50 dinosaurs & bugs which was a nice surprise as usually museum gift shops can be expensive. All in all it was a great museum & I wish I’d had more time to explore and read but my 3 year old was ready to move on pretty quickly so I think we will wait & try to visit again when he’s a little older. If we were local we would visit more often!

What a fantastic experience! Loved the interactive aspects of the Museum and have been telling people this is a Must See!!!

The Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park

Outfit with a mission to provide homes for misplaced or abused animals from lions to bears to birds.

Slide 1 of 3

Went here for me and my husband anniversary! Was well worth the trip... we did the exotic tour (not pictured) and was worth every penny! The pictures came out amazing and got them on a CD! Employees were really nice besides the lady in the front office and she was little on the rude side... but all the other employees really seemed to love the animals and enjoy their job!

It was the saddest thing that I have witnessed in my life. You can literally hear the cubs crying and it was awful, and they try to play it off but it was the worst thing I have ever experienced. Tigers should not be kept in small cages! Abuse definitely goes on in this place. Definitely never coming again and I do not think people should keep giving these people any more money.

It was a nice overall experience. You're going to have the opportunity to get darn close to some big cats! The animals all seem to be well cared for. If you pay an additional fee you can even hang out with a baby tiger! I'd say you'd get at least an hour and half worth of fun out the place.

Great place to bring your children .... history lessons in abundance. A beautiful place to spend the day .... bring a picnic!

Staff was really friendly and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful. The museum is one of the best to display a culture past, present and future. The walk through experiences and the language tables were my favorite.

So much to learn from history. Love to visit sites like the Chickasaw locations.

Arbuckle Wilderness

Exotic-animal park with self-drive car tours, plus a petting zoo, reptile center & small rides.

Slide 1 of 3

Love love this place.... it's like a small mom and pop place not like natural Bridge wild life ranch. All the animals are happy and running around and want to be fed. The roads are bumpy so u have to take ur time. Which is a good thing my kids absolutely loved! Loved it....

My family loved this place it was way better then Fossil Rim and way cheaper too. We are most definitely coming back in May to visit again. The Alpaca/llamas are first to see at the beginning of the trail and will try to eat all your animal feed I recommend saving it for the Ostriches Zebras and the other animals that are towards the end of the park. All the animals where fun to feed we where there for about 2 hours . Next time where bringing the Jeep some , of the trails had steep hills and our 2WD Honda kinda struggled.Lots to see lots of fun.

I remember going here with the family many years back. The family all grown and my dark hair is now gray.I remember feeding the fish and the boardwalk is in bad shape, I will say they need to make some repairs. The family had a blast. Our dog charlie just didn't know what to think about this big bird .The ostrich was large and in charge the llama or alpaca not sure maybe both and donkeys where great got about half way done and our van overheated so we sat there about 40 minutes waiting on it to cool down, enjoying the animals it was great. They must have alpaca coms, because the longer we stay the more ducks, donkeys and alpacas showed up.We started again seen some big deer of some kind large like a elk but looked different and made it almost to the bison before the van was hot again. More ostrichs these big birds put on a show one was dancing with it wings all spread out as the worker filled the water trough. Once again we pulled over waiting for the van to cool. We watched as two ostrich fought each other it was more show than fight but the family thought it was awesome to see. We started our adventure around 12pm and now it's after 4pm the place closes at 5pm. So when the van was ready we had to keep moving which was sad. We had to pass by the giraffe and when we came up to the zebra, one of them ran over to the van as if to say I have been waiting all day for you to come home a lot like my dog greats me after a long work day. I wished we could have stopped but the vans electric fan has gone and if we keep moving it stays cooler. Our dog was totally good with the experience I guess he thought the llamas where just big dogs.We are going to return sometime I fixed the van it ready. Listen I said it need repairs but if you go you will have a blast. I can't wait until we return to finish our experience 90% of the animals will come right up to you. We didn't see any mistreated animals. And none of them looked under fed. The road that takes you through has some rough spots just take your time you will be fine. Maybe the next time we go we can feed the fish.

Turner Falls Park

Beaches & a natural swimming hole with waterfalls plus a rock castle, caves & geological formations.

Slide 1 of 3

I really enjoyed my visit here. A nice waterfall, and lots of areas to hike and explore. They had an interesting cave and castle to explore as well as a general store for souvenirs and snacks. It wasn't too crowded just enough people to feel comfortable. Nice to see Muslims touring as well, very multicultural place with the assortment of visitors.

Great walk in this beautiful nature reserve. The weather perfect, and we saw several deer. Reasonable entry fee for off-season mid-week. Disappointingly, no cafes open (just a general store with a friendly lady - we visited twice!), so we had to leave the park for lunch in Davis.

There is so much potential!! But I agree with the lower rating reviews, during the peak of the season it is overcrowded, trash is everywhere, bathrooms are disgusting, and they seem understaffed for the amount of people they let into the park. There is no peace and quiet with all the tourists and music. I want to check it out during the off-season but I feel like prices are pretty steep for admission, some great hiking trails surrounded by lots of nature but you have to hike a few miles before you can enjoy the quiet away from the campers. My kiddos enjoyed adventuring the cave the most. As stated in other reviews it is a long trek to and from the swimming hole, not ideal for young children and the shuttle wait is outrageous.

Good place to have fun, free admission free parking and barbecue place. You may swim if the weather permits. Doesn't really worth travel if you're coming from far (you may find similar places near where you live), but if you're not too far from it, give it a try and you won't regret.

Second annual trip. *Fishing at Veterans Lake. *Played in water at Little Niagara. *Stayed at Rocky Point cabins. Used to come here as a kid now I'm bringing my adult kids and grandbabies!!!

Good for a day trip from dallas. The lakes were serene, and clean. The small spots like little Niagara falls, travertine creek were okaish, busy. People were having picnics, swimming. Drive was good, scenic. Although we cudnt see any bison at the bison point.

WinStar World Casino and Resort

Modern quarters in a sprawling casino resort offering a spa, 2 pools & a golf course, plus dining.

Slide 1 of 3

We stayed at the hotel, enjoyed the casino, and ate at a couple of the restaurants. They do everything with excellence. The place is huge! I particularly like the idea that they do have a non-smoking casino area. The place is well ventilated. You can play the penny slots to the high-roller events. There is something for everyone. Although the pool wasn't open, we lounged in the area outside the pool. We had a beautiful view from our hotel room. There is something for everyone! I'm not a gambler but I enjoyed the slots with $40 for many many hours. The other couple made enough winnings to pay for both our hotel rooms, food, and the gas from Dallas. It was a one day trip that was worth every penny. We plan to return the next time we are in the area.

Wow! This casino knows what people want. Easily larger than some Vegas casinos. Flow keeps moving throughout, no traffic jams. Plenty of restaurants choices placed evenly throughout with lots of pricing choices. Same with bathrooms… you will always be close to one and they are clean. The many center circular open bars is a nice place to sit…have a beverage and people watch. Really enjoyed my visit. Oh and each “city” has its own entrance, each city has different slots. New York is smoke free. In the very back/end the gaming area is very dark, cool & quiet on purpose. I also like shopping in the nice shops.

I always have a great time here even if I don't win. They have good shopping, great food and the slots are fun. If you are sensitive to cigarettes or smoke smells wear a mask as it does have a very, very strong smoky cigarette smell throughout the entire casino. This doesn't bother me however (as I grew up around chain smokers) and it is to be expected in casinos. They also have nice rooms in the hotel as well. If you play a lot they may offer you a free room every so often. I enjoy coming solo or with a group of family and friends. Also, be prepared that this place is HUGE so be sure to bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes as you will walk a lot.

The deco is awesome.. Took us two days to" win & lose "our way thru the Casinos... It's huge 😍 Had a great time .. Kiddos to the staff ..

Fantastic night and could not of enjoyed myself more great place to see bands we had a great night all seats are great to see the stage so it does not matter where you sit the bars were quick so not waiting too long for service highly recommend seeing acts here and great for din er before hand too.

This casino is so huge and vast with many entrances. You will see live music at few bars which gives a good enthusiasm to the surroundings. I found the single bottled beer prices were a bit high. Also, the Black Jack is more popular game here. 💵♣️♠️♦️♥️🃏 Easy way to redeem cash from the lottery game tickets at the kiosks.

Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle du Bois

Wooded equestrian & hiking trails around a lake, plus a rustic lodge with an eatery & a marina.

Slide 1 of 3

This is one of the best state park I have seen. It is a perfect place for a day trip. You can play in the water and sand, it is very beautiful. The waves are not very big. People will come here With family and friends and prepare their own food in the barbecue area. The north side of the lake was filled with Kite surfing professionals. The wind in the north side was heavy, so it is the perfect spot for kite surfing

My family has been here twice in the past month camping in the Hawthorne primitive sites. We love it! Sites are beautiful and both sites we stayed at were on the water. We love fishing and the sound of the water at night so it was perfect for us. Park employees are all so friendly as well and facilities are kept clean. Beautiful Texas State Park! ❤️

Well day spend at #RayRpbertLakeStatePark. This is really well maintained park ample of space for kids to play and enjoy. Attaching map for more details. $7 per adults (13 years and above) there are several places to visit in between before visiting to the final spot, camping is allowed to the designated areas . We missed a sunset but I am damn sure sunset view would be better as this lake is located at south west. You can bring your bike for trail, do swimming at your own risk, skiing, boating and fishing. This lovely space to visit for a day with group.

Denton County Courthouse-on-the Square Museum

Slide 1 of 3

Beautiful open-air square for family and friends to hang out. Also many fun bars around with college students and locals mingling.

Super nice docents with lots of knowledge about Denton history. You sign in and then take your own walking tour of the displays on the first floor as well as the court room on the second floor. Go it your own pace. Fun things for kids to play with also. It doesnt matter if your new to Denton, visiting Denton or have lived in Denton for every, there is lots to learn from this museum.

Still a working courthouse for the commissioner's court, the county has made great use of its public space with a variety of displays including a small museum. I understand you can rent out the courthouse for weddings or similar events which would be a nice unique space for such an occasion.

Slide 1 of 3

I sat on the first row in Section 130 and caught a first half hat trick. So close to the action it was amazing. Parking was close to the entry and going through security was fast. DJs playing music before the game were good. Bathrooms were clean. Laid back atmosphere with great fans. Was Military Appreciation Night and the Fireworks afterwards were really good. FC Dallas Player gave his jersey to fans next to me after the game which was cool for the fans and kids.

Nice stadium with a great atmosphere for watching soccer. The parking is also pretty easy too.the food is fine, and they have an app that you can use to have food delivered to your seat.

Watched FC Dallas vs Seattle Sounders. Ended with a drone and firework show. Accessible stadium and decent food options. We were in 113T and it was very very loud with the band below.traffic and out of stadium is not easy. Tickets are $25 per person and parking is $10 per car.

I absolutely LOVE this place. This was my first time to visit the historic town and it did not disappoint!!! The shops were cute and filled with treasures. I went especially to visit the antique stores. I was not disappointed. The Antique Company Mall was amazing. I love how almost all the stores had antique wood flooring that creaked. Next time I go I want to try an eatery. There is lots of free 3 hour parking stalls that line the streets.

I love visiting Downtown McKinney! The area is very walkable and has the feel of a small town square within a large city. Beautiful historic buildings, several excellent restaurants, antique stores, clothing boutiques, and other unique small businesses. Historic Downtown is built around the courthouse and hosts several festivals throughout the year. Music festivals in the summer, Oktoberfest, and Christmas celebrations to name a few. Parking is a challenge, but there are garages. Lovely way to spend an afternoon/evening in McKinney!

Awesome town!!! Antique shops,.restaurants, boutiques, high end furniture, candy store and even a comic book store! We happened to visit at the beginning of a festival so the town was all dressed up and super cool. Very clean and awesome people everwhere! Great for walking around and parking was plenty. Planning on moving to Texas soon and cant wait to go back!! Lucky us a food truck was open and we ate the most delicious funnel cake - yum!!

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve

Nature preserve

Nature & Parks

This 200-acre park features a trail system, playground, picnic pavilion & public restrooms.

Slide 1 of 13

Located less than twenty miles from downtown Dallas in the suburb of Plano, this 200-acre pocket of tranquillity is ideal for city-dwellers looking to reconnect with the natural world without having to venture too far. The park features 3 miles of paved trails and 3 miles of unpaved trails, as well as a 2.8-mile off-road bike trail that winds through a variety of scenic terrain. There is also a large recreational area boasting an interconnected set of play-structures.

Anyone willing to travel a bit further for some natural beauty will be rewarded by this 200-acre park, 20 minutes away in Plano. At Arbor Hills there’s a trail system adding up to about nine miles, including three miles that are paved. The park is broken down into three main habitats: Blackland Prairie, Riparian Forest and Upland Forest, sustaining birds like woodpeckers, herons, owls and turkey vultures, as well as coyotes, deer, bobcats and several snake species.

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve boasts around three miles of natural surface trails and the other three miles of paved trails, which is best for people hiking with kids in strollers. For bikers, you can explore the well-built bike trails within the nature preserve. Although the trail is a bit difficult for inexperienced hikers, it is a great place to witness the beauty of wildflowers in native prairie, especially in spring.

If you want a rustic vibe, with open fields and grass, Arbor Hills might be the perfect spot for your Dallas photoshoot. It’s quite a big park so if you’re not able to traverse easily or have a stroller it may not be the best option. In order to get the most even, golden glow, a sunset shoot is a must!

Nestled on the edge of western Plano, the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is popular with families. Follow the trails along the creek, ride bikes, wander through the wildflower pasture or stop for lunch at one of the picnic tables located in the 200-acre park. 6701 W Parker Rd.Plano, TX 75093

Just north of Dallas in Plano is the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. You can easily spend all day here (if you bring a picnic). The 200-acre park has miles of hiking and biking trails, a playground, and lots of opportunities for spotting wildlife, from coyotes to woodpeckers.

A 200 acre nature preserve, Arbor Hills is home to some of the most beautiful untouched nature. The walking trails and open areas are perfect for photos, especially from spring to the fall. During the warmer months the area is lush and green, and almost ethereal.

Located in Plano, Texas, Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is a wonderful display of natural beauty near Dallas. If you’re looking for places to go that are beautiful and rewarding to experience, come here. It’s one of the most gorgeous places in the Dallas area.

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve(6701 W. Parker Road, Plano 75093) One of my favorites. Paved trails, unpaved nature trails, 200 acres of creeks, paths, and open spaces. You can easily forget you are just a couple miles from the Dallas Tollway.

This spot is pretty anytime of year, but I especially love it in the Spring when you get these beautiful pictures. View this post on Instagram. A post shared by Texas Blogger – Travel (@mycurlyadventures_)

I've lived nearby for 5 years and had never gone before last week, and I was really missing out! It's so pretty! There are lots of unpaved trails through the wooded area and fields, but also a large paved loop you can walk along as well.

Really well-kept trail for families and friends to hang out. There are also off the beaten path trails for the adventurous! The good thing is: all trails go around so you will not get lost. And the open space plus many people walking around make you feel safe; unlike some other trails in Dallas where you feel like someone could jump you at any corner! The trail is also kept clean and free of trash. And in some parts, you get a nice view of the city!

What a beautiful place! The walking paths were well maintained. The off the concrete paths also were very well marked and seemed adventurous. This park had biking, walking and exercise areas. Along with special sitting places and so much more! The photographers were out in full force in just about every area you could see after awhile. Come early! VERY early, to avoid the crowds which will gather as the morning continues.

SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium

Family-friendly exhibits with a variety of sea creatures (most offer play areas & group packages).

Slide 1 of 5

Right across from LEGOLAND Discovery Center at Grapevine Mills is the SEA LIFE Aquarium. They offer 16 interactive zones to explore including an interactive rockpool exhibit where your kids can touch sea stars, urchins, etc. But their most popular attraction is probably the Ocean Tunnel where fish, sharks, rays and turtles will swim next to, over and around you.

Beyond anything you’d expect inside a mall, atSEA LIFE® Aquarium Dallas you can immerse yourself in the oceanic environment filled with sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, clownfish, jellyfish, touch tanks, and more. Visitors of all ages will love walking through the 360-degree ocean tunnel, watching fish swim overhead.More

Sea Life is a nice, little, mostly self-guided aquarium. My boyfriend and I spent about 40 minutes here, but we arrived about 90 minutes before closing. At that time, the exhibits that included talks or demonstrations with the aquarium staff were already done for the day. Those exhibits were still open to view, and there were some employees around that offered some tidbits of information, which was nice. Each tank or area has little screens displaying what you could see in the tank and little bit of info about each creature, as well as various “fin facts” displayed on the walls. Sea Life also has a 360° tunnel where you’ll find yourself surrounded by various species of shark, fish, stingrays, and other creatures. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend this aquarium to anyone looking for a fun place to visit that you can spend as little or as much time as you want.

Neat place for adults and children alike, the aquarium has interactive menus of wildlife facts for each room, unique experiences like touch pools, and the walk-thru tunnels are stunning. A good amount of stairs so if you bring small children or strollers be aware of that. We spent about an hour here and enjoyed the sights at a good pace.

We drove an hour to get here. The manager with short grey hair and the equality mask (I forgot to read her name tag) was very kind and so were the other staff members everyone was very patient. I was overwhelmed today by the generosity of the staff. This is a very beautiful aquarium and perfect for little ones. My favorite were the jellies and my kids loved every bit of their adventure today especially touching the sea stars ✨ Thank you for the amazing time y’all have no idea how much a blessing this place was for us today. There’s been so so much going on and today was a reminder that there’s good things that happen too 💕 Thank you!!

Grapevine Mills

Large mall with outlet stores from major brands, plus a food court, a multiplex & kids' activities.

Slide 1 of 4

An indoor mall featuring over 180 stores of entertainment, shopping, and dining options, Grapevine Mills is a perfect place where you can find fun for everyone. Some of the shops featured here are Ann Taylor Factory Store, Disney Outlet, J Crew, Forever 21, Neiman Marcus Last Call, and so many more. There are also dine-in theatres, cafes, Sea Life Aquarium, and LEGOLAND.

This is a huge mall! It has so many options from aquarium to a arcade to a gaming cafe. It’s just one giant loop. Ton of shopping and eating available here too. If you like malls then you like it this place.

Its very family friendly. A great spot for a family day when the weather is bad. We have the aquarium, lego land, rainforest Cafe and many little rides in between. My only complaint is that I wish they would refill the sanitizing wipes for the rides more often and keep the mall clean. It's a little unkept but it also could be because of workers shortages. Just come prepared with wipes and hand santizers.

Very Nice & Clean Mall! Plenty of shopping stores and places to eat throughout the food court. I enjoyed walking around shopping. All the stores were open and in some you see them handing out mask a hand sanitizer before entering. I will definitely go back.

With nine water slides, six splash pools, and one “gigantic tipping bucket,” all spread out over 80,000 square feet, it’s no wonder people flock to this indoor water park to escape the blistering sun. The water park is reserved exclusively for guests staying at the Great Wolf Lodge, which helps with overcrowding and long lines. An array of dining options are available on-site, and “Story Time” — where younger guests wear their pajamas while listening to bedtime stories at the Great Clock Tower — happens every night.

No matter what the weather is like outside, it's always a balmy 84 degrees inside this 80,000-square-foot tropical paradise. As far as attractions go, the Great Wolf Lodge has it all--seven pools, twelve water slide rides plus a multi-level tree house tricked out with a boatload of interactive features. Oh, and in addition to the indoor water park, the lodge also features Racoon Lagoon, an outdoor water park that is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Water slides, lazy rivers, laser tag, scavenger hunts and character encounters?. If it's nonstop excitement you seek, then this kid-friendly aquatic paradise is the place. Stay out of the sun but keep cool in their 80,000 square foot indoor water park and dry-land adventures for all.

Another Grapevine gem, this family hotspot is a few minutes northwest of Dallas, underwent a massive renovation in 2018. The resort has themed rooms your kids will love and is jam-packed with activities (it's not just a water park!) for your kids. You could say this place is a kid's Las Vegas!

This amazing Dallas resort with a water park features a seasonal outdoor pool, a spa center, several on-site restaurants, and a gym. Select the “Whirlpool Suite” for a special occasion and have a very romantic stay. There are family and theme rooms as well, if you’re traveling with the kids.

A family favorite across the US, GWL is unique to each city. Great Wolf Lodge is the only indoor water park in North Texas. The 80,000 square foot water park is only part of the attraction.

No word yet on when Great Wolf Lodge Grapevine will be reopening. We will update as soon as we know reopening details. Resort is closed through June 15.

We rented the grizzlies sweet and it was pretty cool there was two bedrooms three beds one pull out bed. I wish the fridge would’ve been bigger given our party size but there was two bathrooms which was nice. The master suite and the regular room in the grizzly room TVs and so did the living room. The second floor has a Starbucks and other cool places to eat. The water park was really cool the lazy river is really nice and the wave pool was pretty cool too but it could use more waves the one in Chicago definitely has better waves. I like the kids area because my six year old was still able to enjoy a lot of the kitty pool activities. There are multiple slides which the older kids can go in which is nice and there are two bars and one food station. The bathrooms were incredibly cold but that’s maybe because we were in the warm water. The water on the first day was cold but by the second day it was warm. Over all our state was enjoyable.

Hotel room was so cute with a mini cabin inside for the kids to sleep in. The water park was lots of fun with many different areas to play in. The arcade was open all night. The wand experience is fun and let's you explore all levels of the hotel. It was good family fun. I took a star off for the cost. It was very expensive. We decided to do 2 of the paid activities to save money but it was so expensive the package deal for all activities would probably have been a better deal. The restaurant in the hotel is $25 per person and $10 per kid, but is an all you can eat buffet with Prime rib and other expensive foods making it worth the cost. They also have a pizza place on site that can deliver to your room. If planning on going here start planning way in advance since rooms book up quickly and also look for groupings and discounts to try and alleviate some of the costs.

The check in process was long 45 minutes. When we went to the water park it was extremely cold, I thought the water was going to be warm, but it was not. Also it seem as if they had the air on. Everyone was complaining because its winter time and yall had the water cold. It was so cold in there you couldn't even enjoy the water park. I was told by one of the workers sorry its cold, but we do have a hot tub. When I went to the hot tub it was crowded. People was coughing and not covering their mouth "just nasty". To many people in one small area, so we got out and went to our room. In the room we took a shower and guess what our the water temp wouldn't get hot the shower water was freezing. I had chills while in the shower, that's how cold the water was. I didn't complain to the front desk, because I didn't see the point. After we took our shower we went down to the restaurant. The restaurant was buffet style so we didn't eat there. People was coughing and again not covering their mouth or wearing a mask, and in line getting food and touching things with their dirty hands. I literally seen a man coughing on the walls in the hallway. So, we ended up going across the street to a BBQ restaurant. They next morning we checked out of the hotel room. I checked my email, and they had the nerves to charge me 45 dollars for three pool towels that I made sure I turned back in because they charge 15 dollars per towel if you do NOT return them. I called, and they gave me back my money. So watch out for extra charges on your bank statements.

Southfork Ranch

Dude ranch

Sights & Landmarks

Picturesque ranch used as the setting for the original 'Dallas' series & now offering tours & more.

Slide 1 of 7

If you’re old enough to recall the hit television show ‘Dallas’ during the 1980s, you’ll be familiar with Southfork Ranch. Southfork, which is 25 miles (40 km) north of downtown Dallas, was used as the show’s setting, welcomes visitors with guided tours of the sprawling mansion to relive their favourite scenes from the series. If you’re too young to remember the Dallas mania that swept the world, Southfork Ranch and its gorgeous setting is still an impressive Dallas landmark to see.

Around a 25-mile drive from the city centre, Southfork Ranch is one of the best things to do in Dallas if, well, you love Dallas. You see, it;s the ranch from the Dallas TV show. If you’re a fan of the TV series, you’ll even get the opportunity to explore inside, too.

Yep, this is where the iconic ’80s television show Dallas was filmed. But don’t worry: If you visit, you won’t be besieged by backstabbing, lust or dramatic showdowns. Quite the opposite, actually.

For fans of the TV show Dallas, no visit to the area is complete without making a pilgrimage to this iconic ranch, located 25 miles north of Dallas in the suburb of Parker.

Loved the show Dallas and have always wanted to see the ranch. The ranch is an amazing & beautiful place. We learned alot about the history of the family who had owned Southfork & also about the show. Definitely recommend putting this on your list of things to do in Texas!!🥰🥰🥰🥰

Had a scheduled horse ride on a typical Saturday with my boyfriend. We showed up to the spot to meet and no one was to be found. We tried going into the shop and the doors were locked. Mind you this was a 2:30pm ride and the last ride starts at 4pm. So we decided to wait around and see if we could join with the 4pm group. We waited in the car for over and hour and no one ever showed up. We tried to call but there is no one to talk to when you call because it is all automated. My boyfriend tried multiple times to get in contact with them via email and phone and never got a response. He then tried to revoke the charge on his card that he paid with and Southfork claimed they gave us a tour, so the money was not refunded. We never spoke to anyone from the ranch or were able to get in contact with them. A very disappointing experience to say the least.

Very clean great vendors. Seemed the venders were really happy to be there and that showed when talking to them. Wish this trades day was open more than once a Month. Will definitely be going next month.

Galleria Dallas

3-level mall with department stores, dining, shops, a skating rink & hotel under one roof.

Slide 1 of 5

With its ice skating rink, adjoining hotel, and glass vaulted ceiling modeled after Milan's historic Galleriea Vittoria Emanuele II, Galleria Dallas offers plenty to see beyond its collection of more than 200 stores and restaurants.

Or visit Galleria Dallas with its iconic ice-skating rink. Bargain hunters can't miss The Shops at Park Lane or Grand Prairie Premium Outlets!. Don't forget to take advantage of TaxFree Shopping program.

Went to mall to go to the Apple store and spent some time exploring the mall too. Lots of great options for food and shopping, including fast food and sit down dining. They even have Five Guys!! Ground level has a skating rink and there are multiple parking garages so plenty of space to park. But my favorite is the decor/theme of the mall with green and trees and moss decorations on the walls. Looks like they did a great job reopening/adapting after Covid. Any unused store fronts have been covered up by green wallpaper with quotes or nice advertising so it doesn’t feel sad or empty like it’s going out of business. I went on a weekday and it was already decently busy.

I hadn't been here in awhile. I forgot how many different shops and restaurants they have here. I picked up some last minute gifts and was in and out rather quickly. It's decorated nice for Christmas and they had a lot of people enjoying the ice rink. Cheerful vibes and family friendly location. 👍

Galleria is one of the best malls in DFW area and has almost all brand stores (Gucci, LV, Zara, Express, Macy's, Nordstrom, H&M, Sephora, Forever 21, Abercrombie, Banana republic etc.) under one big roof. It's clean, well kept and there's ample parking. However, unfortunately it seems that Galleria has also been impacted by COVID as quite a few spots are now vacant. There's an ice rink in the center. While there are plenty of dining options indoors and outdoors, a traditional centralized big food court is missing. Overall a great place for shopping, dining and hangout.

Extreme Sandbox - North Texas

Slide 1 of 3

Incredible experience. I purchased a gift certificate for my husband and brother in law for Christmas. They operated both the excavator and bulldozer. The experience was seamless from booking to scheduling to day of. The operators had tons of fun and had sufficient time to get the hang of each piece of equipment. The instructor Dave was knowledgeable and very well versed in his guidance. As spectators, we were very comfortable. There are covered picnic tables at each equipment stop - each well positions for close up views of the action. The spot is an easy drive from Dallas. All around highly recommend!

Extreme Sandbox is a place you can do extreme things with large construction vehicles. Ever wondered what it feels like to drive heavy machinery? Well wonder no further with Extreme Sandbox! I went with my best friend and he had a great time there. There are several vehicles that one can use to push things or even destroy them. Their is the option of the Wheeler Loader, Excavator, and Bulldozer. The staff was very professional and nice. A headset is given to the operator of the vehicle and the guide helps them through the process. The operator guide, directs the operators so there is no chance of an accident happening as long as you listen to the operators. There is also air conditioning in the construction vehicles as well. One of the great things about them is they have package deals as well. And one could potentially go with a group as well. Another cool aspect about the Extreme Sandbox package deals is that you even have the opportunity of destroying a vehicle if you would like to do that. Family and friends are also allowed to view the vehicles outside if they want to watch you operate a large vehicle. It's not an everyday thing where you can just drive a bulldozer or excavator. So if you ever dreamed of doing something like that, I would highly recommend Extreme Sandbox!

BIG BIRTHDAY SURPRISE! This year for my Birthday Jessica told me she had a big surprise for me, but wouldn’t tell me what it was! I literally had no idea what it was going to be but when we got there it was EXTREME SANDBOX!!! This is business that lets you PLAY with genuine Komatsu construction equipment!!! I’ve always been wanted to do this since I saw a similar concept in Las Vegas, Jessica took a mental note and had been planning the surprise! She bought me the “Excavator Package” which is 60 minutes in a Komatsu PC-290! This thing was so powerful and fun to play with! It cut through the dirt like BUTTER and made it seem nearly effortless to dig a huge hole. Controlling the excavator is a lot like a 30 ton RC car, or makes a lot of sense once you get going. The precision on the bucket was so good I was able to knock tennis balls off of cones, play basketball with the teeth, and even PICK UP A CADILLAC! I also got to drive the machine around obstacles, up and down hills etc. It’s like a tank! The weather was VERY cold hit luckily for me the inside of the cab was climate controlled, and I was even wearing a headset where the instructor could help tell me what to do. They even gave Jessica a headset too so she could listen in on the fun! This was a AWESOME gift idea and I would absolutely recommended it to anyone who was ever curious what operating heavy equipment was like. If you’ve ever fantasized about “goofing off” in a massive piece of machinery then this is the first experience for you! I’ll never forget my 38th Birthday!!! Awesome! Thank you Jessica! 🎉

Great slides, clean park, great food, and the staff is very friendly. They have security everywhere so my stuff stayed safe without having to get a locker. They were also great with my autistic son. Definitely recommend!

Everything went pretty well we had a lot of fun my lady and my daughter. I thought we all had a really good time so it was good. Some rides the lines took up to 30 minutes. Other rides like 10 or 15 minutes. The environment was good though everybody just having a good time so no bad vibes. We wasn't going to spend our money on food or anything in there we just save our money on that cuz it's too expensive. Well definitely go back a lot of fun.

Got to know some of the staff from Doing 5g work here. They are all very nice people the park looks great.

It's been over 20 years since I've been to Six Flags so I was so excited to return with my children. They have something for everyone. My kids range from 18-2 and they all had fun. As always the lines were super long but the weather was perfect so we could not complain a bit. All of the workers we encountered were very friendly. I was so thankful they had designated smoking areas but everytime I went to one there were quite a few people smoking weed with kids running all around. The food was reasonably price. The cups for 17.99 were worth it with unlimited refills for the day and the popcorn buckets had $.99 refills all day. My daughter was too excited when she saw Tweety bird and we got some cute pics. There were a few rides that I was excited to get on but they were closed (Raging Rapids, Log ride, The Titan). The bathrooms were clean unlike I remember as a teenager. There were people in each bathroom cleaning as people went in and out. I'm sure we'll be getting season passes for my 4 kids soon. I can't wait to go back and make more memories with my family.

It was awesome, thrilling experience. It is well maintained, sanitized, neat and clean. All Covid safety measures being followed. Every ride experience was thrilling, only thing is, we need to wait for minimum half an hour for every ride otherwise its good

I enjoyed the afternoon hanging out with my kids. The lines were a bit long but that's normal during Spring Break. The food was pretty good. It was worth the price and I can't wait to go again

Choctaw Stadium

Stadium

Sights & Landmarks

Home to the Texas Rangers, this baseball stadium with a granite & brick facade seats 48,000+ fans.

Slide 1 of 8

Eager to discover one of the most legendary places to go in Arlington, TX?. Carve out time to visit Choctaw Stadium, home of the Texas Rangers. Formerly known as Globe Life Park, the famous stadium has hosted two World Series Championships and the Major League Baseball All-Star game in 1995.

Don’t worry, we have still have something left for you in the sports division. Globe Life Park is still here for you to fulfill that dreams of yours. Being the home ground of the iconic Texas Rangers- Globe Life Park seats more than 48,114 people.

You won’t want to miss out on an exciting Rangers ball game. The environment is perfect for families and even a nice sports date. Who knows, you might end up falling in love over one of the ball park’s signature hot dogs!

Globe Life Park, established in 1994, is a football and soccer stadium. It has a capacity of roughly 49,000 to 52,000 and was the former home of the Texas Rangers until 2019.

You can root root root for the Rangers (or a visiting team if you must) in this open-air, fan-friendly ballpark that opened in 1994.

We took our grandchildren to the Elf on the shelf show and had a wonderful time. It ended up being a family post Christmas affair as the entire family came along. And the end of the tour was truly amazing. Excellent venue to host the event.

We went to Choctaw to watch the Dallas Jackals rugby team. The game was great, the venue is okay. The stadium used to be the home of the Texas Rangers baseball team and the stadium has been modified such that it is no longer suitable for baseball. The atmosphere has a looming emptiness. You can see hundreds of empty seats in my photos and that's only the bottom half of the stadium! The stadium will hold like 40,000 people I suppose, but it's... mostly empty and it's sad. Now this won't keep me from going back, because I want to watch the Jackals play, but the stadium...the Jackal's could do better. There are high school stadiums in the area that would be a better choice than this, for parking, atmosphere, and traffic. Oh, that's another thing. Choctaw is immediately adjacent to the Ranger's new stadium and the Cowboy's stadium. Traffic was pretty bad.

Yes they play baseball here but it’s a technological wonder. 5G, tens of thousands of connected devices. Oh and it’s air-conditioned. A perfect 72°. The roof opens… But why? We walked all over… Got a tour of the professional offices… This place is amazing. In many ways it’s just like a shopping mall a lot to retail lots of food. The seats? They have a cushion! Not those hard plastic things we are used to. How was the hot dog? Amazing. Oh and the Rangers won over the Sox that night!

What an experience touring our biggest rival's stadium. The gentlemen at the front desk happily welcomed us even though I was in my Eagles jersey and SB Championship hat! Chuck and I had such fun bantering back and forth. Mary Ann was such a sweet, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. She also put up with me dancing and singing the Eagles chant song on that blue star on the 50 yard line!! Such a CLEAN, upscale beautiful building. I'd love to see us winning a game there in the cushy seats!Truly impressed. Definitely worth the experience and money!

The stadium tour is 5 Stars. The stadium experience on game day is 3 1/2 because of long security lines to get in from waiting in freezing cold. They should have more checkpoints to move faster. Some of their security is great and some of them are rude inside. We have been twice on the tours and games. It has awesome views. VIP Guided tours give you amazing access. The further away from game day the greater access. The self guided tour is fun too, especially if you don’t have a lot of time and want to hit the highlights. The food is good but crazy expensive. The traffic is horrible, esp. after a game. We notice more bad ref calls on the Cowboys than other teams?! We love the team. Go Cowboys!

The VIP tour was incredible. I only wish they had the field set for football instead of monster trucks so we could go out there. I'll be back for a self guided tour just for that! It was mentioned that Jones' daughter and wife had quite the hand in designing many of the spaces. They did a magnificent job.
