The hearts for reward are useful to buy gifts for NPCs, you can have battle potions/grenades/items or silver (you will always need silver). I do them all the time on any alts. If you want to rush
the story, you shouldn't have any issue about silver currency with the events there are ingame (the pass and the boost).
Those quests are easy and on your path to the main quest so in my opinion they are worth it since the beginning, plus, they give exp.

Considering how little out of your way you need to go for them, I always do the yellow ones as I go on any given alt.
I've taken to ignoring the purple ones given after you finish a continent though, those take a while and are completely out of your way.

yes i guess the trade off is time. they dont seem like they are worth the time if you are rushing to level up.
but my question was 'when do they become worth it'?
just do everything the game has
you will get hard stunlocked later on trying to do rapport if your RP stats are too low from avoiding all the quests along the way (kindness etc)
if its on your map, do it

As I said, since the beginning ^^ if you think you will stay few months in the game, all the exp/roster exp (account exp)/items/heart currency they give are good to take, plus, they are ultra easy, a few are cool (I did read them all) but 90% of them are just trash you can spam G, maybe only the chain quests are good to read/have a good story.
just do everything since it gives you rewards for example vitality potion which gives all roster +5 stats,Rapport Stats too like "Kindness , Courage etc and Lastly Extra Materials too . you don't want to miss out on that :D

Wait what potion adds to your roster progress?

They are kinda purple looking one but you don't drink them manually.
Once you get them they are added automatically into your stats.

I heard its not worth doing them until you get to lvl50 but what area will you first start doing them where to rewards are worth it?
On your main character, just do all the quest you come across. Most of the side quest usually are linear with your main quest, or can easily be triported to the area.
