Stuff they dont want you to know review

I’ve listened to a few episodes of this podcast, and while I really want to like it, I feel like most of the episodes are spent talking about conspiracy theories that don’t really have a lot of merit. Maybe that’s what the show is supposed to be about, idk but just wanted to get others’ thoughts on this show?

Stuff they dont want you to know review

level 1

If they spent time talking about conspiracy theories with merit there would only be about 10 episodes.

level 1

I liked it a lot until very recently they did a few episodes on subjects that I actually know a lot about and an unforgivable amount of their info was totally incorrect. It really bummed me out and made me wonder if all their episodes were half assed on the fact checking. Then made me also wonder about the other “Stuff” podcasts and their accuracy/fact checking. Going to pull a few episodes about other stuff I’m well versed in and see if maybe their fact checker was on vacation for a month or if they are just another poorly researched podcast. Hoping for the former.

level 2

Haha let me know what you find!

I have had similar challenges with this podcast. I want to LOVE it mainly for the content but something just leaves me wanting more. I've also totally zoned out listening to it sometimes. It just doesn't always keep my attention because the commentary can be so dry.

level 1

I enjoy it. I actually like the hosts and their chemistry (Ben and Noel do another Show together "ridiculous history", which I really enjoy) and I generally like the content of the show.

STDWYTK was the first show that actually opened the world of podcasts for me so I might be partial here, but I enjoy most of their topics as well. I agree that it doesn't feel like they deal with actual conspiracies though.

level 1

I can't stand the way "they call me Ben" talks

level 1

I prefer "Conspiracy The Show" from unpops. All hosts and guests are comedians, so it's a good listen even when the content is a bit of a stretch. That being said, they usually cover topics that have distinct paper trails. The recent episode about aspartame was interesting, as well as their episode about Courtney Love.

level 1

Well yeah, isn’t this an older podcast? With a conspiracy podcast, I expect after a few years you’d be pretty much making everything up. I mean, even skeptoid has become thin, compared to how it use to be.

I’m just surprised STDWYTK is still going.

level 1

Noel is my favorite because he sounds like Dwight Schrute

level 1

I enjoy it. It's fun to get baked at the end of a long day and throw this or behind the bastards on. for some reason im not listening to pods like wlecome to nightvale much these days, mainly podcasts like STDWYTK. I feel like even if I'm not super into the topic, they do a great job at researching. I dig the random facts i learn about things i never knew i wanted to learn about.

level 1

I'm pretty sure that podcast is supposed to be a joke or something. It feels like a parody, like "the scary door" on fufureama.

level 2

is that the futurama version of covefefe?

Reviews

While the subjects they pick for the podcast are great there is so much meaningless banter at the start that by the time they get around to the subject at hand it’s barely explored at all. There is also a fair amount of bias, not really going in with an open mind. It’s frustrating because this...Read full review »

The topics are very real and important. Like the delivery usually sometimes they get too hokey but we need to listen to what is being presented

Typical anti gun propaganda - ignore gun deaths by gang violence. Take gangs out of the equation and it totally changes the statistics.

Love the podcast, keep u the good work. I’m having trouble finding your book as I live in Australia.

robpc78 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 11/03/22

They approach every topic with open minds and thorough research. I love their objectivity and healthy level of skepticism. In a world filled with unfounded conspiracy theories, we need this show more than ever!

Justice1993 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/03/22

If you listened to the crap they shoveled and lies they told to explain the Clinton body count and still listen to these far left losers your just as nuts … one star because I can’t put negative

Hopefully they don’t run ads every 5 minutes every episode.

Noel has gotten to be sooooo annoying. You can even hear how annoyed Matt is when he responds to Noel.

I checked this podcast out and wow I have never experienced such bad audio quality with a podcast since 2013. It sounds line the bitrate is inverted 💀

This is probably my favorite podcast online today. These guys love their craft and you can tell through their stories. Listen as much as I can and would recommend to anyone!

I’m a victim of Voice to Skull and Remote Neural Monitoring (Gangstalking) this is a massive clandestine issue that is going unnoticed. Think Havana syndrome but for the general population.

hey fellas i actually have havana syndrome! havana great time listening to this podcast

thomas_sankara via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/22/22

Really enjoy this podcast because the STDWYTK crew always finds the right balance of open-mindedness and criticism, whereas many of their peers just accept every conspiracy as fact. Keep up the great work!

DNJ73 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/18/22

It’s a rehashing of scientific stories with a lack of any logic. “Bacteria all of a sudden knowing parkour” “the hulk of bacteria” 🙄

The hosts are pretty funny, albeit a little left-leaning. I saw in some of the reviews people complaining about the ad time. The problem is that most IHeart radio shows are like that nowadays. This doesn’t make the problem better, but it is not only this show with an overwhelming amount of ad...Read full review »

Lazy. No research. You click on an episode that sounds like it could be interesting but it’s these two morons gabbing about literally everything except the subject of the show.

merrick300 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/30/22

This is too conspiracy laden. They do have some really awesome episodes but they also speculate excessively. For example l, in the Havana Episode update they attribute the lack of explanation for a weapon as a psychological disorder where the victims are possibly just causing this to...Read full review »

I Used to adore this podcast - now it’s stagnant & way past its use by date, It has morphed into the mutual admiration society. This is a fun, interesting and yet grounded podcast about all sorts of crazy conspiracies and bizarre stories. The hosts do their best to remain objective and present details so listeners can judge for themselves.

b_dubb via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/24/22

Of course being apart of iheart radio, they’d have annoying ads. The annoying part is that they don’t change for weeks so you hear the same ads 500x more than you want. But the show is amazing, Max needs more time on air and Worcester ma is pronounced wister

jaybiiih via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/24/22

Pretty good show for the most part, but the ads have made it practically unlistenable. It’s got to be nearly 50/50 show/ads now.

tgambles via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/21/22

Completely biased posts of a left-leaning variety, e.g., ignoring the felonious actions of then SoS Clinton and discounting other actions associated with the Clinton Crime family.

caved1ver via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/18/22

Tried to listen to the recent episode on cults. Part one was a quarter of the time they spent tip toeing about trying to not be offensive and explaining what a cult is. Like, let’s face it we all know what you mean when you say cult. The other three quarters of the episode was just advertising....Read full review »

Good mix of topics, as with most other “corporate owned” pods, follows same formats, feels vanilla, overly produced at times. Most episodes have way too much conjecture and thin on details at times. Distracting to hear nervous laughter nearly every episode from one of the co-hosts. I’ve found...Read full review »

Conspiracy theorists are lonely, simple minded morons.

Giphysucksasshole via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/15/22

These guys are cool, smart and funny. They put on a good show and once upon a time I would have given them a five, no question, but they have become overrun by ad time and it’s freaking annoying. You guys are better than this.

Matthew D Robinson via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/14/22

Always new crazy stuff. I’m not a fan of the supernatural stuff they do, but that’s only around Halloween usually. Other than that, phenomenal stuff

Kimbobinator via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/12/22

I like the show, sometimes. Sometimes these guys ramble on a little too long before getting to the meat of the topic. Also, Ben sometimes alludes to being some kind of man in the know… and I’m skeptical because he never explains his credentials. He also has a habit of “mansplaining” for lack of a...Read full review »

I’m constantly working in the cable provider field and on my free time I find myself wondering about conspiracies as I do enjoy it a lot. This podcast answers so many of my questions. I love it. You guys are doing an excellent job….

blindambition869148 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/27/22

There are more “classic” replay episodes now then new content and for how many ads are stuffed into the show I would expect higher production value then everyone recording from their bedroom closets at home

The AJ/Sandy Hook episode was unbearably reckless. Any hint, suggestion or implication that AJ’s views, “apology”, or other statements have any value or honesty is complete nonsense. It’s dangerous. Do better. Much better.

JBLeaside via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/08/22

The show is really good, They cover a wide variety of interesting topics, I love the objective look at conspiracies. HOWEVER, I wish they would chill out with the ads. I heard a show you guys did a while ago about organ harvesting and trafficking, something about the age these traffickers look for, and something with blood transfusions that people do to stay young. do you have any idea what episode this is?

Mr. Monk 🙊 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/04/22

FAR TO MANY ADS FOR A SHOW THATS NOT EVEN AN HOUR IN LENGTH.

ARCHconNOVA via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/03/22

Just listened to this episode and on that subject, the elephant in the room these last 2 years is a great example of human experimentation. I guess your hands are tied and you can only allude to what is currrently going on. Good work.

Yet another good podcast ruined by iHeart.
