Excellent day trip. Saw beautiful redwoods in Armstrong State Park. Not crowded at all. Overall, a great day.

This tour was great, we had so much fun! Our guide was amazing and so full of knowledge about the area. The timing at each site was good, we beat the crowds for the Muir Woods and got to enjoy it with minimal people/outside noise. Would recommend

Great tour. Armstrong park is so much more enjoyable than Muir Woods. Less crowds and easier walk. Brian was a great tour guide

An awesome tour. Loved getting to the Redwoods early before many of the crowds. Brian really personalized the experience for the group. He also jumped in to take photos and had a wealth of information to share.

Muir Woods, Golden Gate Bridge overlook, Stinson Beach, Sausalito. Brian was a fantastic guide-only 2 groups of 2 on the tour-great experiences

    Much shorter than I expected

    Katrina_M, Aug 2021

It was not a 10 hour day trip as it was advertised. We were done by 2pm. Driver had some very inappropriate comments and stories. Know your crowd before making sexist/racist/transphobic jokes… still torcher myself for giving him a $20 tip.

    Response from Host, Aug 2021

We will certainly speak with the driver. However, in his seven years as a guide (and countless positive reviews), this is the first time we have heard that his presentation is inappropriate. We are sorry that the day did not live up to your expectations.

    Golden Gate, Golden Experience.

Awesome trip! Great views of the coast. Would have loved more time at the coastal areas. Liked that we were picked up directly from out hotel. Had lots of time in the Muir Woods.

How do you get to Redwood National Park from San Francisco?

There are three routes you can take from San Francisco to Redwood National Park: Highway 1 to Highway 101, Highway 101 only, or Interstate 5 to Highway 299. Highway 101 is the main north-south road through California and the quickest route to Redwood National Park from San Francisco.

What is the best month to visit the redwood forest?

Best Time to Visit: Redwood National Park has decent weather all year long thanks to the mild coastal temperatures. The winter months tend to be rainy, so the best months to hike amongst the redwoods are from May to September.

How many days do you need in Redwood National Park?

Yes, you can definitely experience Redwood National Park in one day! On my most recent visit, I only spent about 6 hours in the park and still managed to hike Prairie Creek and Foothill Loop Trail (including seeing Big Tree Wayside), Simpson-Reed Trail, and Stout Memorial Grove Trail.

How far are the giant redwoods from San Francisco?

The distance from San Francisco to the redwood forest and natural wonders of Yosemite is about 170 miles each way. That is about 8-10 hours driving round trip.
