U of Ts goal is to help educate its students to change their communities and the world. As a first-year international student here, you will be required to pay a tuition fee of 24,960 CAD to 67,160 CAD. This is really affordable compared to other schools in Toronto.

Your tuition covers your class fees, but you must also remember to budget for expenses such as books, living expenses and additional fees specific to your program.

A domestic student is a student whose immigration status in Canada is one of the following, regardless of country of residence:
- Citizen
- Permanent resident

An Ontario resident student is:
- A dependent student whose parent’s primary residence is in Ontario.
- An independent student whose primary residence is in Ontario, and Ontario is the last province you have lived in for 12 months in a row prior to being a post-secondary student.

The University has introduced a separate tuition fee schedule for Undergraduate Domestic students who are ‘Non-Ontario’ residents effective starting the summer session 2022. The U of T Student Accounts website outlines the criteria for Ontario and Non-Ontario tuition billing.

Incidental Fees

Incidental fees contribute to things like student societies, campus-based services, athletics and recreation facilities, and student health and dental plans. Many of these fees are compulsory, but you will have the option of opting out of a small proportion of them.
