I don't skate, just liked how they looked and felt. It's my first pair of shoes over $40 (ended up costing over $80) and thus I want them to last forever. I was persuaded to buy a can of Water and Stain Shield at the register, but now I'm worried about applying them. The website says that the shoes are canvas and suede, I don't know much about fabrics but I do notice that part of the shoes have this really nice fuzzy finish that I don't want to ruin. Will the spray harden the shoes' surface in order to render them waterproof, or something like that? On that note, what if they get wet without the spray on? Can you wash these shoes (I'm used to throwing my shoes in the washing machine if they get dirty)? What is some basic maintenance I should know? Tl;dr: Bought the Nintendo SK8-His. It’s been raining a lot where I’m at and the majority of my shoes have suede level 1 I usually use scotch guard level 1 Boot cleaner kit from walmart. Cheaper, more for what you buy and works like a charm. level 1 I’ve never bothered personally, doesn’t seem to really mess em up. level 1 Kiwi mink oil and instant shine sponge for my leather high tops level 1 I used the reshovener. It’s amazing level 1 I use Crep Protect on mine. I put the shield on two of my new pairs and I’ve been wearing them for 2 weeks now and they’re doing great, but I’ve been to lazy to put them on my other pairs yet.
