Jun 30, 2020 Has anyone been able to successfully get a trailer hitch mount for 2020 VW Cross Sport ? Before anyone says "The 2.0 variant cannot tow things" hitch would be exclusively used for mounting bikes. I have tried Uhaul, local hitch shops and of course the dealer with no success. Please help ;(

I too have had no luck. I think the regular Atlas hitches will work though because holes underneath in the rear look identical. It’s probably just not approved for the Cross Sport yet. I’m almost tempted to try one to see if it works. Joined Jun 19, 2020 ·

Have you Emailed or called them and explained it is for a Bike rack, I have found a quick call and tell them what you are looking for they might do a slight Mod to an existing hitch.

I actually popped on etrailer.com yesterday when you posted this and noticed that all of their hitches had a note saying not for Cross Sport or whatever.
I realize the body work is different, but I can't imagine everything underneath is different.
And both the Curt and Draw Tight hitches drop below the body work so there should be no
clearance issues. Maybe...
Can you find one on Amazon? I only suggest that because they have a very easy return policy if you were to get one and then it does not actually work...

I just asked my dealer yesterday (7/6/2020) for the OEM part numbers for the hitch and was told I would need the hitch and a new valance piece that has the hitch cutout. OEM 2,000 lbs Hitch: 3CM-092-135 I am thinking about the OEM version since I just need it for a bike hitch and like the recessed hitch
look on the V6 Cross Sport.

Just curious, what did they quote you for a price on the rear valance?

The quote was full suggested retail pricing: $370 (hitch) & $170 (rear valance).
Although online vendors offer these much cheaper.

rests on the glass. Not my method but it worked for her and 1 mountain bike.

there some European hitches that can be used without having to spend more money and tearing up the back cover?

Has anyone added a hitch on your Cross Sport? I would love to see pictures of what the end product looks like and what hitch you added.
Thansk!

I purchased the one from the dealership so it looks more like the factory mount instead of an aftermarket that drops down lower. I’m trying to remove the bumper cover in order to remove the ex’s Igor bumper and replace it with the new VW bumper/hitch unit. I’m pretty handy but FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I cannot get the last couple toggle clips disengaged!:/ They are the ones that sit right below tail light and towards the rubber door seal. Basically hidden ones. I haven’t found any videos on how to do the cross sport but have seen bumper removal videos on a tourag and would imagine these blind clips are the same. I am yanking in this thing to the point of feeling like it will snap. And still no luck. dealership quote me about $550 to install. But quite frustrating when you buy something that should be able to be completed with a set a
directions (although simple pictographs) and they actually leave that part out; as if to say too bad Lol. If it was more self planatory it should be done under 2 hours.
