Why does Joel keep jogging instead of running?

I can't make Joel run, he keeps jogging no matter how hard I push L forward. I can't make the run at the end of Escape the City. Please, help.

He's getting up there in years, so....

Use L2 to enable while pushing joystick to sprint/run, I did have a couple issues with that occasionally, releasing then repressing the L2 would get him running again.

Joel will jog wheb there are no enemies, he will run/sprint when he is in danger/ enemies are close. Hope i helped a bit.

It depends on the intensity of the situation. When there are enemies around you, Joel will run. If things are calm, Joel will jog.

Hey!
I have completed the game twice and the jogging is when everything is peaceful.
Just like most of the above anwsers
enemies in your area - You are able to run
Peaceful no enemies - Jog

Hi,
I'm playing the game now and I have the same problem : Joel keeps jogging instead of sprinting while being chase by an armoured vehicle on the bridge to escape Pittsburgh.
Controller works fine, system rebooted several times, Joel keeps enjoying the feel of a humvee trashing him when he should clearly be running for his life.

What button is run in last of us?

While you are able to change whatever buttons you want within the options menu, by default you press L1 to run or sprint in The Last of Us Part 2. This is the left shoulder button just above the L2 trigger.

How do you run and jump in The Last of Us?

To jump Press X. This one is a regular Jump in The Last of Us 2, and to Sprint Jump Hold L1 and press X. In this way you will run and jump, this will help you to cover bigger gaps and cling to the other edge.
