What is the oldest you can move a mobile home?

Some counties have a specfic age limit, ranging upward from as low as 5 years, but most don't have a maximum age. Instead, they require that the home pass an inspection for structural integrity and safety. The application for the inspection has a fee, the inspection itself costs more, and there is often an additional payout for required repairs and a reinspection.

The intention is to keep skanky, battered old mobiles on the other side of the county line. We lived in Dixie County, Florida, for several years and their acceptance of just about any ancient single-wide that could be dragged into the woods meant that a rusty hulk could appear within view at any time. As we found out, making sure that a new neighbor doesn't become the local eyesore is important. People nauturally that take pride in their manufactured home and want to protect their investment from being devalued by a battered home nearby.
