What platforms have chat on DBD?

So in the pre-game lobby why cannt we have a message chat something like how Rocket League does? I think a game like this deserves something like this which is essential

Yea I think we all know what would happen if they add the Chat to consoles… you ain’t foolin anyone. I can see it now.

“TUNNELER!!!”
“Garbage Killer”
“We where just meming with flashlights”

”Your not even good”
”Flashlight Macro’ing- teabagger”

Should I go on? This is usually all it Devolves into. 90% of it would just be filled with negativity and passive-aggressive behavior. The 10% may have some “GG’s”. Yea I’ll take a rain check. The Devs need to do a bit more -FAIR- balancing before they add the chat to consoles.!

I’m on PC and had no idea consoles didn’t have this. Can console players at least see my messages that I type in there?

Nope, we can't even SEE what you guys say which is complete BS. I want so badly to be able to talk to them especially when someone does something insanely moronic. Or even when someone does something GOOD.

The only logic I ever see is stupid as hell too. The oh console players will only be able to communicate slowly. Well IDK about PlayStation but on Xbox, they have these things called keypads for a damn controller where you can type just as fast as a real keyboard. Oh ya know, use the Xbox app and type with your actual keyboard or your phone.

Welcome to online multiplayer. lol but dont they already do that on PC?? What difference would it be if they just added it to consoles?? Theres trolls on literally every game.

Seeing what the chat is used for in Overwatch (that game has it on PS4), I say no. Want to chat while in the Entity's realm? Move onto PC. Hell, returning to Overwatch a bit, sometimes the chat causes drops in frame rate in the midst of a match; I dread even imagining what DbD would turn into with in-game chat.

EDIT:
In case they do add an in-game chat, they also need to add some way to disable it, not everyone cares to read what some random on another platform feels like spouting.

Also, about keypads, they're available also for the PS4's DUALSHOCK, but if you plan on getting chatty, link an actual keyboard to the PS4.

Not saying to add chat while in-game. Only pre-game lobby or post-game lobby where you see your results after. Obviously adding the chat while in the middle of the game wouldnt even make any sense
