Medical radiationsRMIT is the only Victorian university offering a multidisciplinary approach to medical radiations, with the option to study all medical radiations disciplines at degree level. Pharmacists – also known as chemists in Australia – are healthcare professionals responsible for supplying, dispensing and manufacturing medicines and advising on their appropriate use in community pharmacies and hospitals. To become a pharmacist in Australia you need to complete a 4-year tertiary degree, pass the Pharmacy Board of Australia registration requirements and participate in an internship with a registered pharmacist. A Senior Certificate or a relevant qualification, with at least a D symbol at Higher Grade, or a B symbol at Standard Grade for English, Mathematics, Physical Science and Biology. Applicants with Botany and/or Physiology in place of Biology will also be considered.
How long does it take to study pharmacy in Australia?Undergraduate pharmacy courses in Australia are generally 4 years. This is followed by a 48 week paid internship, making this pathway 5 years in total.
