The Heart Pirates take Luffy and get the water out of his system. Elsewhere, Shinobu and Momonosuke manage to land safely. Momonosuke continues to worry about Kinemon and the others. Meanwhile, Nami unleashes Lightning Blast on Ulti. Bao Huang sees Ulti knocked out and accidentally announces it to everyone. Usopp traps Bao Huang so Otama can make her announcement. The Gifters arrive at the Performance Floor, overwhelming the samurai side. Finally, Otama commands the ones who ate the dango to switch to their side and help take Kaido down. To the surprise of the Animal Kingdom pirates, many start moving to the samurai side.

Meanwhile, Yamato prepares to fight Kaido on the rooftop. Kaido tells Yamato there is no hope for him since Luffy and Momonosuke sank to the bottom of the sea. However, Yamato claims he didn’t need to protect Luffy or Momonosuke. He says those two will defeat Kaido and set Wano free. Kaido laughs at Yamato, stating that defeating him is impossible. He tells Yamato to become shogun, although Yamato refuses. Until Luffy returns, Yamato will hold Kaido off.

One Piece Episode 1036 Recap

Bao Huang’s announcement affects the morale of Luffy’s allies. Chopper starts crying, and he wonders what they should do now. Furthermore, Onigashima is finally above Wano’s mainland. Elsewhere, Briscola feels better after eating a dango from Speed. Izo, Kawamatsu, and Sanji continue defeating the enemies in their way. On the Performance Floor, Perospero begins another round of his candy arrows. Before Queen attacks Chopper, Sanji appears and kicks Queen. Queen starts spinning around, deflecting the candy arrows and sending Perospero away.

Sanji leaves Zoro with Chopper. He prepares to fight Queen. Meanwhile, Kinemon is heavily injured from Kaido’s attack. However, he continues to defend. He thinks about everything that he and Momonosuke have gone through. Kinemon starts coughing out more blood but knows Momonosuke needs to stay alive. On the other hand, Kaido tells Kinemon to die like a samurai.

While running away, Momonosuke thinks about Kinemon. Momonosuke brings out a small Mary. He hears Luffy’s voice and makes an announcement through the Mary. He tells everyone that Luffy is alive. Also, Luffy told him he would return. Luffy also told him he would definitely defeat Kaido. Momonosuke then implores everyone to keep fighting.
