I was shocked by how immaculate, stylized, and flawless the animation was. It was a beautiful movie from start to finish. Through emotional turns, ups, downs, and sideways, the aesthetics matched the tone perfectly and without ever distracting from the story, rather enhancing it all along the way.

The story itself was fantastic. As a person who hasn't read the manga, this was all new to me, and the pacing, character development, and unfolding story felt perfectly in-line with what I remembered from Season 1, along with what I knew of the characters. It's a beautiful story, the dialogue never felt longer than it needed it to be, and I never felt like someone was reading an essay to me. It felt like a naturally moving adventure.

The acting was top notch, which I sort of expected after loving the performances from the voice actors in the first season, but they didn't let up here. All the characters turn in a fantastic performance, thanks to their actors, and it really sold the story. Especially during the more dramatic sequences, it didn't just feel like characters yelling their emotions to get the point across, it was proper acting and I appreciate that.

Overall, this is one of the best movies I've seen spawn from pre-existing series, and for anyone that watched season 1 of Demon Slayer, it's a must watch! 5/5. Future productions for anime movies, please take note, this is how you do a fantastic movie.

"Demon Slayer: Mugen Train," also known as "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train," has managed to cement itself as a huge box-office success worldwide. The 2020 anime film debuted during the autumn season in Japan and immediately broke records in its homeland. As Variety reported, by December of last year, "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train" had become the biggest box-office hit for the country. In fact, it beat out the previous record-holder which was Hayao Miyazaki's 2001 animated movie "Spirited Away." Via Indie Wire, the film made around $350 million at the Japanese box office.

It appears that "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train" was also set to repeat some box office success in U.S. theaters as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter,  the movie debuted in late April with $21 million at the U.S. box office, making it the biggest U.S. debut of all time for a foreign language film. This is amazing considering that "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train" may have required its audience to already be steep in its lore since the movie is a direct sequel to the first season of the anime series.

Despite the records the movie has made at theaters, there are many of us who are left wondering when we'll be able to enjoy it in the comfort of our homes, especially as we continue to wait for Season 2. Fortunately, the anime film's digital release isn't too far off.
