John Deere Power Products recently produced the 5-millionth unit at the factory in Greeneville, TN.

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (Feb 5, 2019) – John Deere recently marked a manufacturing milestone with the completion of the 5-millionth unit of Riding Lawn Equipment built at the Power Products factory in Greeneville, Tenn. Originally founded as a small, satellite factory, Power Products is now the highest volume facility for John Deere and is responsible for manufacturing many of the iconic green lawn mowers sold by the brand.

"The production of the 5-millionth machine is a significant milestone for the Power Products team, John Deere and our loyal customers," said Jeff Hollett, factory manager. "We take immense pride in the legacy we have built here in Greeneville, and to know we have built 5 million machines is something we are really proud of."

The Power Products facility currently manufactures the John Deere 100-Series models, some of which are equipped with the award-winning Easy Change™ 30-Second Oil Change System, the S240 Lawn Tractor, and the Z300 Series ZTrak™and Z500 Series ZTrak™ zero turn mowers. Comprehensive of all lawn equipment, the models built by the employees at Power Products have a greater reach and purpose than just the equipment.

"The production of 5-million units really puts into perspective what we do here on a daily basis," said Hollett. "It's more than just manufacturing machines to help people tend to their lawn. It's about our unwavering commitment to quality and integrity.  This is the only way we were able to reach this milestone, which is a testament to the long-term success of John Deere Power Products."

The facility was established in 1988 and recently celebrated its 30th anniversary back in July. To learn more about John Deere, visit http://www.deere.com/.

Are John Deere mowers made in the USA?

Today, they maintain manufacturing facilities in 7 countries (including 3 in China), which raises eyebrows among those who suspect their mowers may be made overseas. However, I'm happy to report all John Deere riding mowers are manufactured in Horicon, Wisconsin USA from parts made mostly in the USA.

Does John Deere make their own zero turn mowers?

The Power Products facility currently manufactures the John Deere 100-Series models, some of which are equipped with the award-winning Easy Change™ 30-Second Oil Change System, the S240 Lawn Tractor, and the Z300 Series ZTrak™ and Z500 Series ZTrak™ zero turn mowers.

Where do they make John Deere lawn mowers?

Manufacturing of John Deere mowers happens in Horicon, Wisconsin, USA. However, the company specializes in several agricultural machines, each one with a different manufacturing location.

Are John Deere mowers made by MTD?

MTD makes all of the store brands (i.e., a mower that might have the Home Depot name on it), along with MTD, Dynamark, YardPro, Weed Eater, Noma, and Sears Craftsman. Murray makes MTD. MTD makes the low end (non-commercial) John Deere tractors. John Deere makes all John Deere.
