ok which Silo, as I have looked at all the ones in the game and none of them take grass? In a barn you have to leave it in a pile on the floor in a corner as it doesn't store

You can bale it to make it easier to store and move.
thats exactly what I started doing, makes it a lot easier to store that way too lol
There is an actual barn that takes unbailed grass hayloft I think it’s called

doesn't it just take hay and straw? were talking about undried grass here.
I just leave it in a row and collect it with a forager wagon when needed.

Grass cannot be stored, as Noraf wrote you will have to turn it into hay. Gras becomes drygrass (looks like the hay in the basegame), when the moisture is below 20% or if you ted it. then it will have to dry to become hay (yellowish).

Alien Jim has a silo in the Modhub that stores practically everything, but like Tobi said it’s not very realistic. Just curious what are you trying to keep plain grass for?

Probably for cows. I remember in 17 when you would feed them grass in the winter the production was insane, you would also get way more manure which was nice because you could spread it right after winter.

Cows do not need all tree food bars filled, one is enough, they only eat the best food, so if you have hay or silage and grass, they will only eat the hay/silage until it's empty and then switch to grass.

Any "multifruit silo" shouldI've never tried it personally but if you have it in bales under a shed with seasons mask will grass keep or not?
That is explained in the manual.
//www.realismusmodding.com/mods/s ... play/grass
Grass bales will gradually rot and disappear after two days, unless they are wrapped so that they become silage bales. Wrapped bales do not turn into silage immediately, but instead need some time to ferment. It takes one third of a season (1 period) to fully ferment either a silage bale.
