What stone Can I use for fireplace hearth?

CDK Stone's range of Natural Stone and Neolith is ideal for fireplaces and fireplace hearths. Due to Neolith's superior characteristics, Neolith is perfect for the harsh environment of fireplaces. Being scratch, stain and heat resistant, as well as easy-to-clean, Neolith combines elegance and functionality.

What is the best material for a fireplace hearth?

Stone, brick, cement, or fire-rated drywall finish are go-to materials for making fireplace hearths durable and fireproof. They're also fairly adaptable when it comes to design: They can be left as they are or painted to match surrounding elements in a room.

How thick should a hearth stone be?

For thickness, the hearthstone should be at least two inches. In addition to those considerations, you'll want to decide if you want a hearth made up of one slab or several with mortar in between.

Can you use any stone for a hearth?

You can either go for limestone, slate, granite or sandstone. Each of these stones is perfectly suited for hearths and has their own unique look, character and benefits. It all depends on your personal liking and the decor.
