Background

Black titanium is an ore native to Appalachia. Although expensive to mine and refine, it was used for various mining gear and Excavator power armor.[1] Black titanium can be found throughout Appalachia in ingots or in its raw form.

Characteristics

Black titanium is used in the crafting of higher level power armor and mods as well as repairing the cultist blade. Black titanium is the crafting system's representation of black titanium scrap within the menu. The amount of black titanium available for use is tied directly to the amount of black titanium scrap stored in the inventory, stash and scrapbox. To increase the amount of black titanium available, more black titanium scrap needs to be acquired. Using black titanium during crafting, will decrease the amount of black titanium scrap stored.

A piece of ore which yields black titanium. It can be smelted down at a chemistry station into black titanium scrap.

Locations

• One unit can be found at Hornwright Industrial Headquarters, in the basement.
• Black titanium deposits can be found at the Gorge junkyard workshop. A mineral extractor can be placed on top of a deposit to increase its yield.
• Black titanium deposits and veins can also be found in various other locations throughout Appalachia (see the Gallery for specific locations).
• Can be obtained from miner maps purchased through the U-Mine-It! vending machine in Welch, The Rusty Pick and at the entrance of the Kanawha Nuka-Cola plant.
