Where to get free sheet music Reddit

IMSLP is a given, but often times I can't find newer stuff on there. Does anyone have any recommendations?

You could always give Musescore a try if you haven't already. The sheets are written by users and you can find some nice stuff there.

Um, you rock!! I'm a pianist foremost but was looking for the picking tablature for another song to learn guitar and this site had it!! Thanks so much!

Can it be, that it used to be free but is not anymore? Cheers

For me, the local public library is connected with the public school college system libraries. So I could checkout some of their sheet music (and photo copy it for myself). I would look into seeing if you have something similar in your area.

Nice! I'll start putting my Ctrl+f skills to work.

A good search for "name of the piece+PDF" can work well sometimes.

of course you can't easily find copyrighted material for free, dear buccaneer

I used to like Jellynote, but it has become bloated with ads and many features were locked away behind a pay wall.

As others have pointed out, MuseScore is a great source. They also develop one of the best free notation tools, so you may want to check it out.

If you want to learn a new song, just search for it on Google images and follow the link with the best sheet music. If you're not sure what you're looking for, musescore

I tend to find good sheets on youtube. Many channels with piano music have links to their sheets in their description. But hands off of Synthesia videos. Mercuziopianist is a channel I would heavily recommend for obscure movie soundtracks.

If you want to play video game music especially Nintendo music just look at ninsheetmusic.org

There's a subscription fee after a 7-day trial (I think), but scribd.com has had some random sheets I hadn't been able to find elsewhere. There's also tons of musical theater piano/vocal scores on there for those interested in that.

You can easily bypass the pay wall by submitting an "essay" for each download. Just bang your head on your keyboard, upload the file and you have a free download.

Why are people downvoting this. Imslp is a superb directory of public domain sheet music.

Having a hard time finding beginner sheet music for my 7 year old daughter amongst the suggestions above. Does anyone know of a good resource? Thank you!

Unfortunately free sheet music is hard to find in a usable state. I would recommend asking local libraries and schools about how or where you can access free sheet music for her.

How do you like Oktav? I was thinking of giving it a try, but when I looked at individual songs for purchase, they all said "not available in your country" (USA), so I thought I may not get much out of a subscription.

IMSLP for public domain.

I do like buying physical, good editions like Henles - it's just nice to have.

My public library actually has a ton of sheet music, so in the before times, I'd just go grab a random book and then scan/take pictures when I got home.

Sheet Music Plus has a lot of pop stuff (especially because of the Arrange Me program - lots of individual people who arrange for fun can legally sell copyrighted music)

And what others have said: musicnotes, musescore, or people's individual websites.

I just thought I'd share this amazing collection of sheet music. The arranger also has a great youtube channel where he plays every song that he arranges, and with really great quality.
