This is kind of like a wild mashup of a survival show and a dating show, only a bit of Survivor is thrown in just for fun. You'll find yourself wondering, after five or six episodes, "What is this show REALLY ABOUT?" I mean, it's clearly not about survival as everyone is pretty relaxed, clean, and well fed. And its not an elimination dating show.

Monogamy bites the dust in the many love triangles on the show, as does heterosexuality ... making it utterly entertaining. I still don't know what it's about, but it's been fun to watch and puzzle over.

I just started episode 1, and.....
Yike!! I am worried about their feet being exposed. I know people who got bad foot infections, from cuts, or splinters or whatever. Also, come on, they could wear thongs to just protect vulnerable areas, from branches, etc. There are reasons why humans began to wear clothes. .to protect our skin, etc. Lol.

Yo many fans dissatisfied because this wasn't like the Naked and Afriad they were used too, without taking into consideration certain factors
1. It is incredibly hard to have a sex drive or even think about relationships when your starving and having to figure out how to survive.
2. These are REAL people of all shapes and sizes in a time we REALLY needed some diversity
3. absolutely loved the love stories and hated the upsets that happened, however appreciated the brutal honesty and realness of the cast
4. The setting was stunning and very beautiful!
I can keep going, but before I finish I want to thank the cast and staff (film crew ect) for all their hard work producing the show!

This show was NEVER advertised as Naked and Afraid like on Discovery!! As a matter of fact at the beginning it's advertised as basically a "dating show"; whose gonna find a mate, whose smashing who; and stuff like that...... It was never advertised as a Naked and Afraid Challenge!! That doesn't sound fun at all; STARVING, NO SLEEP, CRAPPY SHELTER; Lady Bits stinking, nahhh no finding love like that, so I always thought or hoped it would be different!! This is EXACTLY what I expected, and I'm excited and ready for more!!! To the man who gave one star, u should probably stick to watching Naked and Afraid Foreign Exchange, but; you are of course entitled to your own opinion! However, u know what they say about opinions, right? There like A##HOLES, and everybody has one Sir; u are not the only one!!

Too corny , the challenges were weak and the women were forced to settle. I guarantee given the opportunity before hand, ALLLL the women would've swiped left on these guys.

This review is for the first episode of "Naked and Afraid of Love" season one. My sweetheart and I couldn't even make it through the first half hour of this without turning it off. We are HUGE Naked and Afraid fans and we have seen every season of the original show and every season of the XL show multiple times. So you can just imagine how excited we were when this show was first announced. We were really looking forward to having another Naked and Afraid show to watch. That being said, it really pains me to say this but this show is a bust, BIG TIME! The creators need to trash this and start over. This is a disgrace and a slap in the face to the people who have done the challenges on the other Naked and Afraid shows. The participants in this show have little to no survival skills and are given a how-to survival book. I kid you not, they are given a survival guide with pictures in it!!!! Also, their shelter is practically built for them already. All they have to do is add palm fronds to finish the roof and maybe the sides. What a crock! So basically this show is just all about hooking up and doesn't have much to do about surviving in the wild while naked and afraid. Hence, it should not carry the Naked and Afraid name. They should name it something else. Maybe "Bopping on the Beach" would be a better name. Lol! Oh, and the background music is horrible also! So there's that! Ok, rant over. Needless to say, we would definitely NOT recommend this show. I'm so very glad that we didn't have to pay for this and watched it with our Discovery+ subscription. [TIP: If you pay the $6.99 plus tax per month for Discovery+ then you can watch all the Naked and Afraid shows for "free".] But who knows, maybe some people will like it. Maybe watch the first ten or fifteen minutes and judge for yourself. Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a great day! :)

Most of the reviews are centered on the fact that the name of this show is Naked and Afraid, because the original show is important to them.

For me, I've never been able to enjoy Naked and Afraid. It's too staged and goofball to be taken seriously. This show doesn't seem interested in the survival aspect at all, and is just a dating show with a "survival" theme.

While not comparing it to another show, it's not a terrible dating program. It's all of the same traditional gender roles and possessive monogamous drama, but that's what these dating shows are for.
