Unlike "Heathers," a satiric treatment of teen suicide, Pump Up the Volume is passionately caring. It's a howl from the heart, a relentlessly involving movie that gives a kid every reason to believe that he or she can
come of age. It appreciates the pimples and pitfalls of this frightening passage, the transit commonly known as adolescence. Full review Writer-director Allan Moyle’s story about a shy high school student who galvanizes an Arizona suburb with a rebellious pirate radio show has rambunctious energy and defiant
attitude. Full reviewThe Washington Post

A 32 Year Old Film That's Relevant TodayVerified purchase
This film is brilliant in so many wonderful ways. Every character was perfectly cast. The soundtrack/score was on point throughout. The sense of loneliness, the agony of feeling like no one is listening...just as relevant today.

Amazon does pretty good sleight of hand.Verified purchase
The movie is awesome, whatbis stupid is that I watched half of it on Oct 29th, went to watch the rest of it the next morning, and it was gone, not a single trace of its existance. I have items in my "continue watching" that have been removed from amazon, but I still have the ability to watch it, for a fee, but it is still there. This is crap, Bezos has enough cash to make any and all movies available at any time..... Prick.

Disappointing digital copyVerified purchase
The low marks here don't refer to the film, itself, which is a personal favorite, but rather to this disappointing digital copy. First, this "HD" version is about the same quality as my old DVD (soft and blurry with noticeable pixellation, especially in dark scenes), and I actually suspect it's pirated: around 1:05:00, there's an "HDNet Movies" watermark in the lower-right corner of the film. I'd love to have a digital HD copy of this film, but this is clearly not the one to buy.
