However, despite knowing what Kanan becomes and how he meets his ultimate fate, executive producer and narrator 50 Cent has promised that Power Book III: Raising Kanan will still surprise fans. Raq (Patina Miller) heads to Lanes Nightclub in an effort to convince Toni to let her use the club as a cover for her crew to sell drugs from. Since Toni was reluctant to let Raq use the club for her illicit dealings, the drug dealer sends her a strong – and horrific – message.
In a bid to assert her power over Toni, Raq orders the death (by microwave) of Toni’s beloved pet pooch. Having the dog killed sent a message to Toni and to viewers while giving a nod to The Godfather‘s horse beheading. In an interview with TV Line, Patina Miller said of that scene: “We only use violence to tell the story and only if it propels the narrative and moves things along. “The dog’s death was symbolic of something bigger.” AnnaLynne Mccord stars in Power Book 3AnnaLynne McCord is an American actress, writer, director, and former model.
