Whos leaving Young and the Restless 2022?

The Young and the Restless star Daniel Goddard has revealed he is leaving the long-running soap, writing on Instagram that he was "shocked and gutted".

"It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that I will no longer be part of the cast of The Young and the Restless," he wrote in his caption.

"I am as shocked and gutted as you are… I almost didn't post but I felt that the most loyal & loving fans an actor could wish for deserved to know and watch the last story arc knowing the rich meaning behind it."

"I am forever grateful for the 13 years I have been a part of the Y&R family… but sadly it seems that without Neil and Lily there just is no Cane."

Daniel has played Ethan "Cane" Ashby on the show since 2007, with his time on the show coming to an end after 11 years.

The Aussie actor will be hanging up his hat after his character lost his father and divorced his wife, Lily, leaving the character largely untethered to the show's main narrative.

It's disappointing to see Daniel lose his role, but at least we can look forward to see him on the show — which screens on 9Now — for the next few months.

And for any die-hard fans — who knows? Cane has been killed off the show before when Daniel was fired from the role in 2011, and Cane was shot to death onscreen. However, the actor was rehired soon after viewers campaigned for his return, revealing that Cane's identical twin brother was in fact the man who died.

The week of October 31, 2022

Tracey Bregman is taking her act on the road. The actress, who plays Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, is heading over to The Bold and the Beautiful for a special crossover. But don’t worry, she isn’t staying on the Los Angeles-based soap. It’s a one-day gig, and she definitely isn’t leaving Y&R.  

Viewers haven’t seen the last of James Hyde, who’s portraying Jeremy Stark. The character from Diane’s (Susan Walters) past will be back.

Who’s Leaving The Young and the Restless in 2022 – Chelsea Lawson Out?

The talk began a few weeks ago about Y&R troubled soul Chelsea Lawson who’s in a state of deep depression. Chelsea’s nearing rock bottom and considering suicide on the CBS soap.

That has a ton of fans asking is Melissa Claire Egan leaving The Young and the Restless. The good news is, MCE is NOT going anywhere! And neither is her alter-ego, Chelsea.

Instead, it’s a big Emmy-worthy storyline they’re giving her. On today’s US episode (November 3), Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) get Chelsea settled in at a psych hospital.

It looks like Chelsea Lawson checked into Fairview on Young and the Restless where Adam Newman, Sharon, and others spent some time before. Look for tons more scenes with Chelsea as Egan acts her tail off with this mental health plot.

Who Else is out at Y&R? Where is Amanda Sinclair?

Another name we’ve heard as possibly exiting the CBS soap is Mishael Morgan as Amanda Sinclair. If you didn’t know, actress Mishael Morgan doesn’t live in the US. She’s Toronto-based and has been for a while.

And she had a recent family tragedy that’s pulled her away from work at The Young and the Restless. Her brother-in-law, his wife, and their three children perished in a house fire. So, for many reasons, Morgan stepped back from Y&R.

She asked to be put onto recurring status and off contract and the CBS soap obliged. So, we’ll see a lot less of Amanda. On the recent episodes, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) texted but heard nothing back.

We expect to see him continue in a solo story arc now that Amanda’s not going to be around much on Young and the Restless. Will he stray with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) or perhaps his ex Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy)?

Young and the Restless Cast Exits – Is Elena Dawson Gone for Good?

Another Young and the Restless cast member fans worry about is Brytni Sarpy as Elena Dawson’s in Baltimore looking for a job with plans to move. But she’s back on the November 3 US episode.

Yet, things look dire for her and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). She’s stunned to hear from him that he took Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) CEO job at Newman Media. And Elena knows it’s a bribe.

She sees the’s still conspiring with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) after betraying his family on Young and the Restless. Elena wants to work things out with him. but Nate’s making it hard.

So, will Elena Dawson stick around Y&R? It looks like it because her social post above indicates she was still hard at work on the set of the CBS soap opera at the end of October.

We’ll have to wait and see. And look for less of Amanda. But the big concern is Melissa Claire Egan leaving the role of Chelsea Lawson. She’s not and her sad story arc continues.
