Why cant I choose my Fortnite skin?

One of the coolest things about Fortnite is that you can use a plethora of skins to customize your characters. But sometimes, Fortnite won’t let you change your skin. Let’s see what you can do to fix this glitch.

Why is my Fortnite skin not changing?

Disable Shuffle readouts

If you’re experiencing the same issue, check if you have the preset shuffle on. Navigate to your locker and disable shuffling presets. Then check if the issue is gone. Disabling the random shuffle did the trick for many gamers.

Update Fortnite

Make sure you’re running the latest Fortnite updates on your device. The devs may have already fixed the glitch in the most recent game patch. Install the latest Fortnite patch and try to change your skin again.

Report the bug

Epic Games regularly roll out new skins to gamers’ delight. You can either invest time into the gameplay to earn a particular skin or pay some bucks to get your hands on it.

Disclaimer not sure if 100% of the time but it has worked every time have tried - If anyone else is like me they have been annoyed by the locker not applying skins properly i have found a temporary fix. What you can do is the preset loadout in ur locker u are trying to use switch to another one or switch to another and back to it ( if it the loadout u want to use) and it should work for 1 mission. Its not the best fix in the world but its the only fix I've found for it right now

How to fix it that your Fortnite Skins keep changing?

Disable Random Locker Presets

In most circumstances, we’re not experiencing an unexpected glitch in Fortnite. We’ve accidentally selected the Shuffle option within our Loadout Presets. Don’t worry; there’s a simple solution to this problem. Epic Games allows us to turn off this feature by clicking Disable Shuffle from the Loadout Presets. However, you’ll want to avoid hitting the Load Button. Otherwise, the character changes won’t stop until this menu reads Enable Shuffle. 

Can I Report Glitches?

Unfortunately, we’ve noticed this solution doesn’t work for everyone. In some cases, players are experiencing glitches from within the Fortnite Battle Royale. It’s an unfortunate situation mentioned with the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. Fortunately, Fortnite has introduced a reporting system that enables us to report glitches. This allows Epic Games to develop and release patches that solve the cosmetic issue. But how do you file a report? 

1. Open the Game Menu
2. Select the Feedback Option
3. Choose to Report a Bug 
4. Select the Bug Category
5. Take a Screenshot of your Glitch 
6. Enter the Screenshot & Hit Confirm 

Epic Games will internally review every report that’s made. Therefore, patches are released without you being personally contacted. But you’ll be contacted if Epic Games isn’t capable of locating a solution. Luckily, this rarely happens. 

Do I Need to Update Fortnite?

3. Select the skin you want for the outfit.
4. Save and Exit
