Will sticky return to proud family?

Allow me to set the scene for you: It’s 2002, you’re sitting on the floor eating cookies, sipping red Hawaiian Punch out of a short styrofoam cup, and suddenly you hear the sultry voice of a young Solange Knowles crooning from the TV: “You and me will always be tight / Family every single day and night.” It’s The Proud Family theme song, and it just became the perfect post-school afternoon. Aah, simpler, precedented times—how we long for them. Good news though: You can recreate all those ~nostalgia vibes~ pretty soon with the show’s reboot, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. But let’s be real, you’ll definitely replace that juice with a glass of wine (or two). Because same.

Get this: The animated series originally aired on Disney Channel on September 15, 2001, and if you’re math-ing right, you know that made yesterday the show’s 20th birthday! (Why, yes, I do feel ancient, thanks for asking.) In honor of the milestone, Disney released the star-studded guest appearance list for the Proud Family reboot plus a sweet lil tribute/promo that is a blast to the past and future all at the exact same time. Let it bless you:

Is there a trailer yet?

Ready to see the Prouds and their BFFs back together again? Disney+ released the official trailer and some things have changed over the years. But one thing we can definitely count on is Suga Mama’s iconic moments, which we’ll definitely see more of in this new series. Check out the trailer below:

What will the Proud Family reboot be about?

The plot will still center around the life of Penny Proud, the main character, and her wacky, loving family. All of Penny’s family members are returning—yes, even Suga Mama’s dog Puff and wild Uncle Bobbi. The reboot will also include Penny’s friends and their many, many hysterical antics. Speaking of Penny and her squad…

Kyla Pratt will voice Penny Proud again

“I’m Penny Proud, I’m cute and I’m loud and I got it going on!” One of thee most iconic bars ever spitted. LOL, okay, maybe not, but it did stick with me for actual decades so it’s def up there. All that’s to say, the one and only Kyla Pratt will be reprising her role as the teen lead of the show, and if her Instagram is any indication, the actor is itching for the new episodes to drop.

Most of Penny’s crew is returning too. The characters of Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez (which is literally a street in Los Angeles, lol), and Zoey Howzer are all in the reboot. At least one Gross sister is still in the mix too, believe it or not. It was unclear if Sticky would be returning, which would be sad because, like, who is Dijonay gonna give all her unreciprocated love to then???

There are, however, some fresh faces who will *also* be coming to the series. The Leibowitz-Jenkins characters seem to be the ~new family~ on the block, with Keke Palmer and Billy Porter appearing as series regulars to voice two of the roles.

And on that note…

There will be *A LOT* of celeb special guests

A-listers from all across the entertainment industry will be voicing cartoon characters for The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. The verrry extensive list includes Normani, Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Tiffany Haddish, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Jaden Smith, and Olympic gymnasts Gabby Douglas and Laurie Hernandez, to name literally only a handful. Disney really opened its bag for this one!

That’s the full scoop for now. Be sure to check back at this story for updates as the show gets closer to dropping. Until then, excuse me while I go find somebody’s karaoke bar to sing the Proud Family theme song very loudly and very off-key.

Will Sticky Webb return to The Proud Family?

While Sticky is gone for the foreseeable future, however, a new family has come in–a family with two fathers, Randall and Barry, voiced by Billy Porter and Zachary Quinto, respectively. They also have a son and a daughter who are about Penny's age.

What happens to Sticky in proud family?

In the first episode of the revival ("New Kids on the Block"), Sticky officially leaves Smithville, California to establish himself in another city in Japan, after the Leibowitz-Jenkins' family move in.

Why was sticky written off The Proud Family?

He is only seen as a silent cameo in the first episode of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder as his actor, Orlando Brown, would not return to reprise his role for the character, causing Sticky to be written off completely.

Who will play sticky in the new proud family?

Within the first few minutes of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, which is now available to stream, Penny and her friends discover that Dijonay's main squeeze Sticky (voiced by Orlando Brown) has essentially ghosted everyone.
