Luke’s Kitchen & Bar

640 S Orlando Ave, Maitland, FL 32751Phone: 407-674-2400

Visit Website

Coming away with the number-one spot on my list of favorite Orlando restaurants is none other than Luke’s Kitchen & Bar. Every aspect of Luke’s is beautifully modern from the atmosphere to the food they serve, yet their menu is very reasonably priced.

You’ll find Luke’s Kitchen & Bar off of South Orlando Avenue in Maitland, just north of Lake Lily Park and around the corner from the Art & History Museums of Maitland.

When you get to Luke’s, I’d recommend trying the redfish when it comes to your main course, but definitely start with some fresh oysters on the half shell for an appetizer.

Kabooki Sushi

3122 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803Phone: 407-228-3839

Visit Website

Next up on my list is a place called Kabooki Sushi. They’re easily one of Orlando’s best restaurants for delicious Asian cuisine with a contemporary flair. They’re located off of East Colonial Drive, north of the Orlando Executive Airport, and right across the street from the Fashion Square Mall.

They do a “Chef’s Daily Choices” menu that I absolutely love. Each day you can come in and try something new that their master sushi chef has thought of. It usually consists of cold tasting options, nigiri and sashimi options, hot tastings, and sweet tastings. Come visit Kabooki today and see what they’re serving!

The Ravenous Pig

565 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789Phone: 407-628-2333

Visit Website

Now, we have The Ravenous Pig, an American joint with an on-site brewery, creative cocktails, and amazing takes on classic American food that I can’t get enough of.

Their menu is just the right size here at The Ravenous Pig. They’ve got a bit of everything, but not too much, and it’s clear that each dish is made with care and attention. One menu item I recommend is the truffle fried chicken that comes with truffle honey and their homemade mac and cheese.

The Ravenous Pig is located just outside the city limits of Orlando in Winter Park, but trust me it is worth going out of your way for. It’s less than a mile north of the Mead Botanical Garden, located right where North Orange Avenue and West Fairbanks Avenue converge.

Knife & Spoon

4012 Central Florida Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32837Phone: 407-393-4333

Visit Website

Knife & Spoon is a unique establishment that I always make time to visit when I’m in town. When you’re talking about the best restaurants Orlando has to offer, this one should always be up by the top.

For me, it’s all about the steak at a nice restaurant like this. Chef John Tesar procures some of the finest-quality, dry-aged cuts to take your tastebuds on a buttery, juicy journey. If you’ve got no qualms about splurging, then you can get your hands on New York strip and ribeye from some of the best cattle ranches in the country.

Check out Knife & Spoon off of Central Florida Parkway, inside The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.

Kadence

This next place is called Kadence and you can find them off of Winter Park Road in Audubon Park, just 2 minutes east of the Harry P Leu Gardens on Lake Rowena.

What I love about this place is that it’s reservation-only, so it feels high-class and exclusive. It’s an ideal place for a romantic dinner in Orlando. They have an enormous variety of sake for anyone that loves rice wine, and you can even buy bottles to take home with you if you find one you really like.

Everything they serve here is like art, to the point where you almost feel guilty eating it. They offer all different types of sushi rolls and other Japanese delicacies that will blow your mind when you come here.

Black Rooster Taqueria

1323 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL 32803Phone: 407-601-0994

Visit Website

Up next is the first Mexican restaurant on my list and it’s called Black Rooster Taqueria. You can find them off of North Mills Avenue in Colonialtown North, just south of the Orlando Science Center and next to one of my favorite Orlando bars, The Guesthouse.

Black Rooster Taqueria, if you couldn’t tell by the name, specializes in delicious tacos. They also have lots of other menu items to choose from, though. I’m more of a bowl person myself, so I usually go for the beef achiote bowl. Black Rooster is also one of the best Orlando restaurants to visit for fresh ceviche if you ask me.

Maxine’s on Shine

Maxine’s on Shine is one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando. They’re only open for dinner during the week, but they have a phenomenal brunch menu that they offer on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays that will brighten your weekend.

My highest recommended dish from Maxine’s dinner menu has to be their delectable Italian seafood cioppino. It’s made with mussels, shrimp, scallops, and fish in a delightful white wine and herb broth.

Check out Maxine’s off of Shine Avenue in Colonialtown South, tucked away in the suburbs in between residential homes. Be on the lookout for it because it almost blends into the surroundings.

Prato

124 N Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789Phone: 407-262-0050

Visit Website

This next restaurant is right on the outskirts of Orlando, just north of the Winter Park Farmers Market and The Alfond Inn at Rollins College. Again, this one is very much worth the extra drive.

Prato is a warm, wood-paneled restaurant that I regard as one of the best places to eat near Orlando, by far. They have a resplendent duck breast dish that will knock your socks off, and the Atlantic flounder is simply top-tier.

They also offer great happy hour specials here at Prato, Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, because you can’t have a proper Italian dinner without sufficient libations.

Wine Bar George

1610 E Buena Vista Dr, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830Phone: 407-490-1800

Visit Website

Wine Bar George is one of the top restaurants near Orlando, located over off of East Buena Vista Drive in Disney Springs and surrounded by all sorts of fun attractions for the family, like Epcot right down the road.

This is the perfect place to go when you really want to sample some delicious wine and pair it with delightful foods. I usually just get a charcuterie board, but if you’re in a big group, they have family-style plates that serve 2-4 guests.

It really is a wine-lover’s paradise here at Wine Bar George. They even have a whole list of wines on tap. If you really want something special, check out one of the bottles on the “George’s finds” menu for a real treat.

Tori Tori

720 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL 32803Phone: 407-735-0999

Visit Website

Next up is a place called Tori Tori and it’s one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando to go to for authentic, traditional Japanese food in a comfy pub setting.

Tori Tori is modern, yet cozy and they have all the beer, wine, and craft cocktails you could ever want. Not to mention, some of the greatest bar food, bar none. I recommend literally anything and everything from their yakitori and kushiyaki menus.

You can find Tori Tori off of North Mills Avenue, just north of the East Colonial Drive intersection, right across the street from the Lake Highland Preparatory School.

Hunger Street Tacos

Visit Website

Next up is a place called Hunger Street Tacos off of West Fairbanks Avenue, just off of U.S. Highway 4. You won’t find better street tacos anywhere, in my opinion.

They do tacos, quesadillas, tamales, and more here at Hunger Street Tacos. My favorite thing to do is order almost one of everything. I really enjoy their al pastor, campechano, and suadero tacos, but there are so many more kinds that you’re going to love with all sorts of delicious taco toppings.

They also have salads if you’re feeling a bit health-conscious and want something with veggies. For that, I think the cucumber salad would be best if you can resist the elote, that is.

Z Asian Vietnamese Kitchen

1830 E Colonial Dr Ste B, Orlando, FL 32803Phone: 407-601-6024

Visit Website

I love cuisines from all over the world, and one of my favorite places to eat in Orlando, Florida for some exotic food is Z Asian Vietnamese Kitchen. You can find them off of East Colonial Drive in Colonialtown South, just east of the Publix Supermarket at Colonialtown.

If you’re looking for pho, this is the place you need to try. They have 4 different kinds of pho available to choose from, or you can actually build your own which is what I usually do. You should try some of their Asian-style wings, as well. They come in flavors like sweet ginger, Thai chili, Korean BBQ, and more.

Pizza Bruno

3990 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando, FL 32806Phone: 407-270-6833

Visit Website

Pizza Bruno is another one of my top places to eat in Orlando, especially for pizza which is something you can never go wrong with in this city.

One thing I have to mention is their New Haven Clam Pie pizza. I know, I know, it sounds strange at first, but you just have to try it. It’s a surprisingly delicious pizza that tastes like clam chowder which happens to be one of my favorite things to eat, especially with some fresh bread to dip in it.

You can find Pizza Bruno off of Curry Ford Road in front of the Sands Orlando Apartments near the Dover Shores West neighborhood.

Reyes Mezcaleria

821 N Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32801Phone: 407-868-9007

Visit Website

Reyes Mezcaleria is up next and they are one of my favorite places to go for dinner in Orlando thanks to their massive selection of mezcal and tequila that you can order tasting flights of to find your favorite. They also have awesome nightly drink specials that vary based on the day of the week.

Happy hour is also an everyday thing here at Reyes Mezcaleria, but the deals don’t stop at drinks. You can get snacks like ceviche, chicharrones, tamales, and much more for low prices to go with your drinks.

Check out Reyes Mezcaleria on North Orange Avenue in the One Orlando Centre in the Central Business District.

Nile Ethiopian Restaurant

7048 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819Phone: 407-354-0026

If you’ve never had Ethiopian food, then you must try Nile Ethiopian Restaurant at least once while you’re in Orlando. They’re conveniently located off of International Drive, right next to the Avanti Palms Resort and Conference Center and across the highway from Universal’s Volcano Bay.

The menu is huge here at Nile Ethiopian Restaurant, so be sure to take your time and read all about the various dishes available. My favorite things that I recommend are the lamb tibs and the Nile Special for One.

They also have all the beer, wine, liquor, and cocktails you could ever want. I strongly suggest trying their top shelf margarita.

Kai Asian Street Fare

1555 FL-436 Suite 1171, Winter Park, FL 32792Phone: 407-821-3430

Visit Website

Next up is a unique counter-serve Asian restaurant that serves tapas-style cuisine, taking influence from Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean cuisines and presenting them in a convenient, quick-serve fashion.

One of their signature dishes is the tonkatsu ramen and it’s pretty much what I get every single time. You know it’s good because it won 1st place in the 2019 Ramen Rumble. Another great signature of theirs is the pad thai which is also to die for.

If you love Kai Asian Street Fare, you can even have them cater your next big event. Food this good is sure to impress all of your guests.

The Osprey

4899 New Broad St, Orlando, FL 32814Phone: 407-960-7700

The Osprey is located off of New Broad Street in the Baldwin Park neighborhood, right next to Harbor Park on the shore of Lake Baldwin.

This is one of the top Orlando restaurants that you need to try while you’re in town if you ask me. I come here every chance I get to eat some of their fresh seafood.

My favorite things to order from here that I recommend are the classic fish and chips or the whole branzino fish. Just be sure to start with some of their fresh oysters. You can even choose which part of the country you want them from!

The Strand is a unique, delightful bistro that serves all farm-to-table food in a bright, welcoming atmosphere. They also have a full bar with all of the beer, wine, liquor, and craft cocktails you could ever want.

Some of my favorite things to try from The Strand are the blackened red snapper and the coffee-rubbed flank steak. Both of these dishes are superb and you can really taste the freshness and care in every bite.

Check out The Strand on the corner of North Mills Avenue and Park Lake Street in the Park Lake/Highland neighborhood.

Sushi Pop Restaurant

310 W Mitchell Hammock Rd, Oviedo, FL 32765Phone: 407-542-5975

Visit Website

This next place is called Sushi Pop Restaurant and you can find them off of West Mitchell Hammock Road next to Tee It Up Golf Driving Range, Toptracer Range and Miller’s Ale House.

They serve all sorts of fresh, authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi which are quite different as it turns out. Everything here is prepared by experts to ensure nothing but the highest quality cuisine reaches your plate.

Sushi Pop Restaurant has some of the most unique sushi rolls I have ever come across. My favorite is called Red Hot’s and it’s filled with spicy tuna tartare, avocado, jalapenos, topped with tuna, sriracha, and other delicious ingredients.

Cafe Tu Tu Tango

8625 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819Phone: 407-248-2222

Visit Website

Up next is a tapas restaurant called Cafe Tu Tu Tango that I recommend to anyone looking for Orlando’s best restaurants. This place is fun for the whole family, especially the adults, but there’s still a kids menu so don’t be afraid to bring everyone.

For large groups of 6 or more, I highly recommend you “take a tour of the tango” and go for their guided tasting menu selection that includes samples of all their signature menu items.

Check out Cafe Tu Tu Tango off of International Drive next to the Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection, and Pirate’s Cove golf Adventure.

Taste of Chengdu

4856 New Broad St, Orlando, FL 32814Phone: 407-286-4850

Visit Website

If you’re looking for Chinese food in Orlando, Florida, then look no further. Taste of Chengdu has literally everything you could ever imagine in the way of Chinese cuisine and they even have 2 convenient locations around Orlando.

I highly recommend either the dumplings or the wontons Sichuan style. My favorite is the spicy version, for sure. They have other Chinese delicacies as well like their Chengdu Crispy Duck dish that will melt in your mouth.

Check out Taste of Chengdu at either one of their locations off of New Broad Street or West Colonial Drive. The menus vary slightly between restaurants, but everything is delicious at both locations.

Kres Chophouse

17 W Church St, Orlando, FL 32801Phone: 407-447-7950

Visit Website

Up next is Kres Chophouse, another one of the best places to go for steak in Orlando, by far. They’re located in the Central Business District right next to CMX Cinemas Plaza Café 12, formerly known as Cobb Theatre. It’s perfect for dinner before a movie.

All of the steak here at Kres Chophouse is aged in-house, and hand-cut for the ultimate steakhouse experience. Of course, if you’re not in the mood for steak, they offer many other delicious options like black grouper, duck, and much more to choose from. My favorite dish, however, is easily the Prime, 20-ounce New York strip steak.

Domu is up next and they are a charming Japanese restaurant that I love to go to for ramen and other traditional Japanese cuisines, not to mention a long list of tasty sake to try.

Of course, it’s hard to resist their authentic tonkatsu ramen, so that’s usually what part of the menu I end up on. If you’re not into ramen, though, I definitely recommend the curry from the “Domu Creations” menu section.

Domu is located in the East End Market shopping center on the corner of East End Avenue and Corrine Drive, just east of the Audubon Park K-8 School.

The Waterfront

4201 S Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32806Phone: +14078660468

Lastly, we arrive at The Waterfront. This lakeside restaurant is one of my favorite places to go out to eat in Orlando because of the picturesque view of the water you get from their outdoor patio out back.

Usually, I frequent The Waterfront for dinner, but if you’re a brunch fanatic, then you’ll want to stop by either on Saturday or Sunday (or both) from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM for a fantastic brunch.

The Waterfront is located on South Orange Avenue, right on the shore of Lake Jennie Jewel and across the street from Vanbarry’s Public House, a great place to head to after dinner for drinks.

Final Thoughts

Orlando is a hub of fun and entertainment for the family, but what some people forget is that it’s also a city absolutely filled with top-rated restaurants. Good luck forgetting about these amazing places to eat in Orlando, though. Once you try them, you’ll be hooked, trust me!
