On the Mojang Support page it says that if you change your username the old one will stay locked for 37 days. You can change your username 30 days after you last changed it. This gives you a week to decide whether or not you want to go back to your old username.
Does this only apply the first time you change your username, or every time that you change? Also, does it only keep the username you're changing from, or the initial account name?

Recently, I was finding some good name to change for, and I found an OG name will be available soon. The username is "Program", which someone ACTUALLY gave up the name for sure. So yeah, good luck on getting it.

^ this is a typical mini mod format and therefore could be argued that the person is a mini mod, however the topic at hand is questionable in terms of mini modding.

In the end mini mods use message formats that have an overly positive and fake feel in an attempt enforce server rules, usually not adding anything of use and/or relevancy to the conversation or question. If you are a mini mod, please stop. Your posts are unnecessary and annoying

There are the so-called "OG name snipers", those bots always win in getting those names.
Anyway, I once tried to get an OG name "idc" and the Mojang name change system disappointed me. That's because the name is still NOT available when the NameMC site says that its available.. it becomes available after 6 more hours. I was waiting for the "Available" text to appear on NameMC, and once it did, I kept trying to get the name a lot but the Mojang system returned "This name isn't available".. I still kept doing that until I got a block from changing names for 24 hours.
I won't waste more time on getting those names again.
