It's no secret that tons of people use Snapchat for private conversations, and if there are some other conversations, videos, photos, and memories you'd want to save under the "My Eyes Only" folder, you'll get another password prompt to access this data. However, if you reset your password, then everything under "My Eyes Only" will be permanently deleted.

My Eyes Only (problem, possible fix)

Okay so I’ve been locked out of “My Eyes Only” for like 3 years. And obviously I tried clicking the “Reset Password” but it warns you that if you reset your password it will wipe all of your pics/vids in your My Eyes Only. Me having lots of shit in there not wanting to risk it all being deleted I’ve just been trying different passwords because I faintly remember a few numbers that were definitely in the password.

Naturally it prevents me from trying too many passwords to prevent brute force hacks. Buttt I’ve found a workaround and thought I’d share to Maby help someone else who may be locked out of my own damn shit.

It’s fairly simple but I noticed when I tried a pass and it locks me out for 150 hours (been trying for a long time) when I log into my Snapchat on my old iPod it let me try 1 more time. Then I had deleted Snapchat and redone loaded it and noticed the same thing happend. So the method is simple

Try guessing your forgotten password

Once your locked out, delete the Snapchat app

Log back in and try it again (resets the timer so you can try 1 more password

Rinse and repeat

I hope this helps because naturally I’ve been searching online for solutions and nobody had one that doesn’t delete everything inside. I also saw soooo many other people online were looking for a solution as well.

I even DM’d Snapchat Support on twitter and got this response.

“My Eyes Only is encrypted to keep the Snaps you save there protected. If you forget your passcode, not even we can help you access or recover Snaps there 😔

If you choose to create a new passcode, anything currently saved to My Eyes Only will be lost, and you’ll need to start fresh. If you do this, be sure to keep your passcode in a safe space.”
