my gear indicator don't show up on dash my check engine light and traction control light stay I put the car in park I tried to go into the menu but it say I need to put my car in park I put the in reverse and the reverse lights won't come on but I try to start it the lights will work everything work radio which wipers to change the battery starter and alternator

do your windows, door locks, hazards and turn signals work? your ignition switch runs to your body control module. I would look into your b.c.m

Possible neutral safety switch, and scan the ABS module for the traction issue.

the Chevy dealer said that this 2006 Chevy Impala don't have a neutral safety switch it has it automatic transmissions super pressure switch how can i find the part

From what I remember it has an internal mode switch, which sends the signals to the transmission control module, then through the computer data lines to the other modules. It is grounded at the bell housing bolt by the starter.

These all have a huge effect on the function of the ignition system.
