Arctic fire dwarf red twig dogwood

Browse reviews from people who have grown this plant.

  • I planted her 10 years ago. For many years she was a quite small shrub. This year she exploded in size! She has bloomed the last five or so years. Lovely red branches for winter. "" To those have issues please remember all plants go through transplant shock. If you do not prepare the spot and keep moist your plant/tree will die. Do not expect miracles if you are unwilling to put in the work. Plants are not instant gratification.

  • Just had these installed professionally. They seem to require a lot of water during this very hot June. If not watered every 2 days, they are shriveling. I did a lot of research on this plant and it always stated average watering. The ticket attached to the plant says it needs a moist soil. These plants do not look great at all. I am disappointed. I always thought PW plants were the best. I have reached out to the landscaper and he does not see a problem. Underneath they are all shriveled up and dead and dry leaves. What gives??? For the amount of money I paid for 5 plants ($150) I want them to look great!! Disappointing!!

  • I bought this plant in the quart size in May 21' and was excited to see how it would turn out. This plant grew so quickly in the summer of 21' (about 2 ft) and this year 22' it's bloomed wonderfully and the changes in the stems from red to green are beautiful. So glad I chose this plant as part of my garden.

  • Bought a 1 gallon plant. Planted in an area that gets a bit wet from rain on the roof, but definitely drains. Weve had it 4 years and it is JUST starting to look like it wants to live there. I cut it back every year and this past winter it was GORGEOUS against our fence line. Bright red. Now it is all about pruning to make sure I get the thick stalks/limbs that will make a glorious show in the future. This plant is ALL ABOUT the fall/winter display. In my opinion it is expensive and takes patience...but mine certainly was worth the 4 year wait for it to mature a bit.

  • I have purchased several of these and have had absolutely no success. They start to die about a week after planting. These grow "wild" up and down the road here but not on my property. Our soil is clay and we are on well water. Am so disappointed. I have purchased these from various sources and all have failed.

  • I planted these last spring and they have more than doubled in size to make a stunning winter display. The deer have kept them nibbled back to about 30" which I have learned to live with. Still stunning, just shorter

  • Plant was blooming when I bought it the summer before last. Last summer, it did not bloom, but grew large. Now, it is June 14, 2010, & there still are no signs of flowering this year, either? Arctic Sun, which is next to it, is lovely and blooming.
